Pokémon Diamond & Pearl Pokémon Diamond & Pearl are the fourth Generation of Pokémon games. Having come out for the new Nintendo system, the Nintendo DS, Diamond & Pearl makes use of the DS's many functions including TouchScreen and WiFi. Diamond & Pearl also brings back many features from Gold & Silver that have since been removed. Bringing 107 New Pokémon into the mix, bringing us to a total of 493 Pokémon, including many evolutions of old Pokémon, Diamond & Pearl completely overhauls the battling system. No longer are move's stats based on its type , but rather each move is individually allocated being Physical or Special. Diamond & Pearl are set in the far off land of Sinnoh and have you playing as a Rookie trainer wanting to go through Sinnoh, beat the Gyms and become the best trainer. However, throughout your travels, you will encounter two rivals as well as the evil Team of the land; Team Galactic, whom are bent on obtaining the special legendary of your version. Diamond & Pearl has over 400 Pokémon obtainable within it, making it the biggest Pokémon game to date. There are many methods to find the Pokémon in the game; Inserting your GBA Game in for Wild Pokémon, Swarms, The PokéRadar and the Pokémon Mansion. However, this is not all as you are capable of transferring your teams from your GBA Versions through Pal Park, this is however one-way. Diamond & Pearl also brings a whole new thing into the Pokémon World; online battling & trading. Using the critically acclaimed Nintendo WiFi Connection, you are capable of sharing Friend Codes with your friends and battling with them. You can also trade with them across the WiFi Connection. Diamond & Pearl also have a Trading Station that allows you to put up a Pokémon that you have, state what you want and have someone trade it with you. A very efficient system indeed. Diamond & Pearl keeps all of the functions the games have had in the last Generation as well as introducing some new ones and reintroducing the Time Based events. It has a cool feature called the Pokétch that allows you to keep up to date with all your goings on including Captures, Breeding, and the location of the fleeing legends. Here's some topic that will help you a lot on this game: New Pokémon New Abilities New Attacks National Pokédex Wild Non-Sinnoh Pkmn Legendary Pokémon Unobtainable Pokémon Sweet Honey New Evolution Methods Sinnoh Gym Leaders Sinnoh Elite Four Pokémon Super Contests Amity Square The Battle Tower Items Berries Daily/Weekly Events Pal Park Sinnoh Underground The Manaphy Factor The Deoxys Factor The Burmy Factor The Rotom Factor The Arceus Factor The Spiritomb Factor Mystery Gift Breeding Changes Gender Differences The Pokétch PokéBall Seals Foreign Dex Entries The Time of Day Move Tutors The Trainer Card Mr E Goods Massages The Ribbon Society Baking Pofin New Pokédex Features WiFi Cross-Gen Trading |

| Wild Non-Sinnoh Pkmn In Diamond & Pearl, after you have obtained the National Pokédex, a good few Pokémon are found all around Sinnoh. However for the most part they will not be found by conventional means. There are two main methods in which the Pokémon are found other than Pal Park. In Diamond & Pearl, after you have obtained the National Pokédex, a good few Pokémon are found all around Sinnoh. However for the most part they will not be found by conventional means. There are two main methods in which the Pokémon are found other than Pal Park. CLick the titles to go to their seperate page that includes lists; The PokéRadar When you arrive at Pal Park for the first time, Professor Oak gives you the PokéRadar and Pokétch feature 20. The PokéRadar allows you to guarantee a Wild Pokémon appearence. However with the National Dex in your possession, you will be able to find Pokémon that aren't in the Sinnoh Dex. The way the PokéRadar works is that when you use it in Grass, without your bike, you will see the grass start to rustle. Go to it and you will have a Wild Pokémon encounter. However this does not guarantee that you battle the old Pokémon, you can battle any Pokémon in the route. However you do not have to worry if you find an old one, if you battle the Pokémon and accidentally faint it, you will get another chance at it when the PokéRadar goes off again immediately after battle for a good few times. This also helps you to get a specific Gender if for example you are hunting for a Male Kirlia or a Female Snorunt for evolutionary purposes. Function 20 of the Pokétch also works utilising this. It displays the biggest streak you have had battling Wild Pokémon found with the PokéRadar, just for bragging rights. This feature is highly useful and will help you fill your National Pokédex as there are a good number of Pokémon available this way. Swarms A feature that was introduced in Past games is the implementation of Swarms. These are where Pokémon in certain routes have their appearence Percentage raised so that they are more common. In Diamond & Pearl however, after you get the National Pokédex, if you go to your Other Rival's house in Sandgem Town and talk to their sister, they will tell you that there is an increase of Pokémon in a certain Route or area If you go to the route or area that the girl states, within one or two wild Pokémon battles you will find the Pokémon at the same level as the other Pokémon. The Pokémon and Route change every day and all of the Pokémon that you find are not obtainable by any other means in Diamond & Pearl so be sure to capture them while you have the chance. The Mansion In Route 212, there is a Mansion where a few people live. Out back there is a patch of grass which is predominantly inhabited by Roselia, Mukubird and Kricketune. However if you talk to the owner in the room to the right, you can activate something else. Every day if you talk to him, he'll walk out. Go back in and he'll be there and tell you of a Pokémon that is inhabiting the place today. Sometimes its a Rare Sinnoh Dex Pokémon, others its a Non-Sinnoh Dex Pokémon so be alert. They are however there all day so you can go back. Their level averages at Lv. 16 to Lv. 19 so bring a Pokémon of that level. You do need to activate this event every day if you wish to see the Pokémon Alternate Game Insertion The final method that allows you to obtain non-Sinnoh Pokémon involves the GBA Games. With Diamond & Pearl being on the DS which contains a slot for GBA games, there is an extra feature utilising this. When you have certain Pokémon games in your GBA slot, some new Wild Pokémon appear in certain areas for the period of having the respective game in the GBA Slot. However these areas do not appear in the Pokédex so this page will be used to help you with the Pokémon Locations for each of the games. These Pokémon and their evolutions are only available with this method However this is not the only reason to find them. Attached to a small amount of the Wild Elekid & Magby are the ElectroBooster and MagmaBooster which are used to evolve Electabuzz and Magmar into the final forms Electivire and Magmortar so this is necessary to hunt the Pokémon down using this Elekid - Magby Electric Booster - Magma Booster FireRed Inserted - LeafGreen Inserted Safari Game The Safari Game also houses many old Pokémon outside of the Sinnoh Dex. Once you have the National Dex, if you go up to the binoculars in the Safari Game and have a look, you may find an old Pokémon. However this does not mean they will definitely be there as they will be pretty hard to find in that locations so you have to be patient. Many old Pokémon are only found here so be vigilant. Generally Wild in Sinnoh A good deal of Pokémon will be found in the Wild Normally on Routes 224, 225, 226, 227, 228, 229 & 230 as well as in Stark Mountain and a few other places that are only accessible after you get the National Dex. Since they are wild and not time dependant, you do not have to worry about getting them if you see them, you can be picky with them. Also, out and about in Sinnoh normally now, you will be able to obtain many old Pokémon simply by fishing. |

Heatran Once you have obtained the National Dex and gone to the Island in the North East, you will encounter a fair few Pokémon not normally native to Sinnoh. Return to the Survival Area and she will be in one of the houses. Talk to her and she leaves. Return to the Mountain and Heatran will be there. You can only battle him once and he is at Lv. 70 so save beforehand. Regigigas Regigigas, the leader of the Regis that was said to pull the continents together. With the three Pokémon in your team, you will be able to awaken Regigigas. Be warned as he is a very powerful Pokémon at Lv. 70. Try to incapacitate him but not faint him within the first few turns. Giratina After obtaining the National Dex, a new lake with the Turnback Cave by it. It is positioned just east of Route 214. In it is a maze like area with pointers telling you where to go. After finding your way through, you should find Giratina. This is the 3rd legendary Dragon to go with Dialga and Palkia. Once again you can only battle it here and it is at Lv. 70. With a variety of resistences due to both of its types, you best be prepared. Cresselia After obtaining the National Dex, when you talk to the family in the house above the Sailor by the boat in Canalave Town, you will be told of Full Moon Island. Talk to the Sailor and he will take you there. The only thing on this island is Cresselia. Talk to it and it will fly off. Like Mesprit, it's current location will display on your Pokétch so you will have to trap it through that. It is Lv. 50 so be prepared. Phione & Manaphy Manaphy, the Prince of the Sea, is obtained via a Special Event that was available for Pokémon Ranger. You can transfer Manaphy over to your game. The Egg it is in hatches after a while into a Lv. 1 Manaphy. However this Manaphy is able to breed and when you breed it, it will hatch into the Psuedo-Manaphy; Phione. A Weaker version of Manaphy. Event Pokémon Darkrai Once you obtain the item Membership Pass at the event, Go to Canalave City and you will be able to access the Motel which has previously been locked. Go there for a night's sleep and you will be disturbed by Darkrai in your sleep. When you wake up, a Diary will be there which contains Darkrai's location. Go to the Sailor at the bottom of the city and he will take you there. When you get to the island, you can go up and battle Darkrai. It is at Lv. 40. Shaymin After you go to the event that is giving away Shaymin, you will receive the item called: Oak's Letter. With this item in your bag, go to the White Rock in Route 224. You will notice that the Route has been extended. Now as an extra long route, the Flower Paradise, all the way to the top right of the map, you must travel it all the way. At the end, in a flower filled field, you will find Shaymin awaiting you. It is at Lv. 30. Arceus Once you go to the event, you will receive the item called: Heaven's Pipe. With this item in your bag, go to the Spear Pillar in Mt. Coronet where you battled Dialga or Palkia. Go to the symbol between the pillars and use the Heaven's Pipe. | Unobtainable Pokemon Pokémon Diamond & Pearl have the highest amount of Pokémon in any game between them. With 445 Pokémon obtainable in one way or another without backwards trading (425 per game), there are still 48 Pokémon that are not available in the games, several of which are actually vital to obtaining a new Pokémon. The way you get these Pokémon are by transferring them or one of their evo chain to Diamond & Pearl using Pal Park and capturing them in there, Breeding if necessary to get the lower forms. These are the only Pokémon that you need to transfer using this method in order to complete the National Dex. All others are obtainable in the game. Below is a list of all the Pokémon that are not Wild or Obtainable in Diamond & Pearl by themselves: #001 Bulbasaur #002 Ivysaur #003 Venusaur #004 Charmander #005 Charmeleon #006 Charizard #007 Squirtle #008 Wartortle #009 Blastoise #114 Tangela #144 Articuno #145 Zapdos #146 Moltres #150 Mewtwo #151 Mew #152 Chikorita #153 Bayleef #154 Meganium #155 Cyndaquil #156 Quilava #157 Typhlosion #158 Totodile #159 Croconaw #160 Feraligatr #243 Raikou #244 Entei #245 Suicune #249 Lugia #250 Ho-oh #251 Celebi #252 Treecko #253 Grovyle #254 Sceptile #255 Torchic #256 Combusken #257 Blaziken #258 Mudkip #259 Marshtomp #260 Swampert #357 Tropius #377 Regirock #378 Regice #379 Registeel #380 Latias #381 Latios #382 Kyogre #383 Groudon #384 Rayquaza #385 Jirachi #386 Deoxys |

| Sweet Honey The item that you use for this is the Sweet Honey. Finding it in the Floaroma Flower Field above Floaroma town, you can purchase it off of the first guy you see for 100 Pokédollars. You are also capable of finding them using Combee's Special Ability. Since you're able to buy an infinite amount of these, you should go around and stock up on them so that you can get it on as many trees as you possibly can. The Trees All around Sinnoh, you will see trees different to the regular trees. These trees are brown. With these trees, you are capable of spreading Honey on them. Simply go up to them and press A to spread the honey on them. This will not do anything right away, but if you come back to the tree in approximately 12 hours, a Pokémon will appear. There are a number of Pokémon that do appear on the trees, many of them exclusive to the this method, however the more common Pokémon to this method are Wurmple & Silcoon/Cascoon. This will throw a spanner in the works for finding certain Pokémon, there is also the fact that if you wait too long, the Pokémon will be gone and your sweet honey will be wasted. Below are the Pokémon that can only be found through the Sweet Honey on trees: Aipom - Heracross - Burmy Combee - Cherubi - Munchlax |

| New Evolution Methods Evolution is a vital aspect in Pokémon, it is completely necessary to get your Pokémon to be the best that it can be. Normally it is by level up, trading, stones or happiness, however in Ruby & Sapphire, they added a couple of new methods including Pokéblocks and having a spare slot on your team. Well diamond & Pearl are no different, bringing some of the most bizarre means for evolution known. Here are a list of all the new Evolutionary Methods: Gender Evolution The first change of note is the addition of Gender Based Evolution. In diamond & Pearl, several Pokémon evolve into their evolution based on Gender. For example Combee only evolves into Vespiquen if its female, and considering that Combee's are 87.5% Male, it is a feat indeed. Below are the Pokémon that evolve and the method they evolve with: Base No. Base Name Method Final No. Final Name #412 Burmy Lv. 20 ♀ #413 Wormadam #412 Burmy Lv. 20 ♂ #414 Mothim #415 Combee Lv. 25 ♀ #416 Vespiquen Attached Items & Level Up A New Concept Discovered is the ability to make a Pokémon hold an item and level it up in order for it to evolve. The Pokémon MUST hold the item in order evolve and some are even time Specific: Base No. Base Name Method Final No. Final Name #207 Gligar Razor Fang [Razor Fang] @ [Nighttime] #472 Gliscor #215 Sneasel Razor Claw [Razor Claw] @ [Nighttime] #461 Weavile #440 Happiny Oval Stone [Oval Stone] @ [Daytime] #113 Chansey Area Based Evolutions Some Pokémon even evolve based purely on their area, either confined into a very small portion of an area or in an entire route. The Pokémon will only evolve here and thats by simply levelling up your Pokémon a single level. Above is Moss Rock and Ice Rock, no the Ice Rock isnt a bad pic, it's really snowy: Base No. Base Name Method Final No. Final Name #082 Magneton Mt. Coronet Range #462 Magnezone #133 Eevee Moss Rock in Eterna Forest #470 Leafeon #133 Eevee Ice Rock in Route 217 #471 Glaceon #299 Nosepass Mt. Coronet Range #476 Probopass Attack Based Evolutions A fair few Pokémon evolve simply because they know an attack, an attack that exists in the moveset. Once the Pokémon learns the attack, if you level them up, they should evolve. However if you get rid of the attack before they evolve, they will NOT evolve: Base No. Base Name Method Final No. Final Name #108 Lickitung Rollout Known #463 Lickilicky #114 Tangela AncientPower Known #465 Tangrowth #190 Aipom Double Attack Known #424 Ambipom #193 Yanma AncientPower Known #469 Yanmega #221 Piloswine AncientPower Known #473 Mamoswine #438 Bonsly Mimic Known #185 Sudowoodo #439 Mime Jr. Mimic Known #122 Mr. Mime Other Pokémon Based Evolutions A one off Pokémon Evolution method is requiring another Pokémon on your team. When you have the Pokémon on your team, the main Pokémon will evolve when it levels up. You will not lose your other Pokémon: Base No. Base Name Method Final No. Final Name #458 Mantyke ---> #223 Remoraid ---> #226 Mantine Trade With Items While it is not a new concept, it utilises new items that you may just simply look at and disregard. Simply attach the items to the Pokémon and trade them with your friends: Base No. Base Name Method Final No. Pic Final Name #112 Rhydon Protector [Protector] --> #464 Rhyperior #125 Electabuzz Electrizer [Electrizer] --> #466 Electivire #126 Magmar Magmarizer [Magmarizer] --> #467 Magmortar #233 Porygon2 Dubious Disc [Dubious Disc] -->#474 Porygon-Z #356 Dusclops Reaper Cloth [Reaper Cloth] --> #477 Dusknoir Stones Another not new concept, but requiring new items, there are several new stones. These stones will only work on these Pokémon, one of which only works on Pokémon of a certain Gender: Base No. Base Name Method Final No. Final Name #176 Togetic Shiny Stone [Shiny Stone] #468 Togekiss #315 Roselia Shiny Stone [Shiny Stone] #407 Roserade #198 Murkrow Dusk Stone [Dusk Stone] #430 Honchkrow #200 Misdreavus Dusk Stone [Dusk Stone] #429 Mismagius #281 Kirlia ♂ w/ Dawn Stone [Dawn Stone] #475 Gallade #361 Snorunt ♀ w/ Dawn Stone [Dawn Stone] #478 Froslass Time Based Happiness Although not a new concept, it is a concept that was brought back after not really existing for the 3rd Generation. Now many Pokémon have the time based Happiness Evolutions. Some Daytime, Some Night Time: Base No. Base Name Method Final No. Final Name #406 Budew Happiness @ [Daytime] #315 Roselia #433 Chingling Happiness @ [Nighttime] #358 Chimecho #447 Riolu Happiness @ [Daytime] #448 Lucario |

| Sinnoh Gym Leaders Like the past Pokémon games, there are 8 gyms which you need to get badges in. | Pokemon Super Contest A function first introduced in Pokémon Ruby & Sapphire, Pokémon Contests provide an extra way for you to train your Pokémon and test their powers. In Diamond & Pearl, they make a triumphant return, under the new tag of Super Contests. These contests are similar to the previous ones but with a few added extras. There are three rounds to determine your success in the Pokémon Super Contests: Visual Judgement This round is similar to the first round in the main games, however instead of just relying on your PokéBlock stats, this time you have to physically dress your Pokémon up with a variety of items to try and get points. You do this via the touch screen and then when you are done you put your Pokémon out in front of the crowd and see what they think based on the type of contest that it is. Dance Judgement The second round is a Dancing round. The Pokémon that you have entered the contest with either becomes the main singer or one of the background singers based on its performence in the last round. In this round, you get rated based on your rhythm and co-ordination with the music of the momnt. To control this, you press the 4 buttons on the touch screen to the music when instructed. The better your rhythm, the more points you get. Performance Judgement The final round runs exactly the same as the main part of the contests in Ruby & Sapphire. You use attacks in here to try and get Appeal Points and Jam the points of the opponents. The person with the most points at the end of the 5 battle rounds wins this round. |

| The Battle Tower Like past Pokémon games, Pokémon Diamond & Pearl has the Battle Tower, a place utilised for the battling of your Pokémon against some of the hardest AI you will find. However, the Diamond & Pearl Battle Tower has a few changes: The first thing of note is that there is no Lv. 50 or Lv. 100 mode, the Battle Tower is Lv. 50 only. However this does not restrict you at all, it will lower your Pokémon's level to Lv. 50 for the battle. Handy indeed, this allows for full integration of all of your Pokémon, no matter what level they are at the moment. Like in Emerald, battling in the Battle Tower will give you Battle Points that you can spend on a variety of things in the building just South of the Battle Tower. However there are 18 Pokémon that are not usable inside the Battle Tower. They are as follows; Mewtwo - Mew - Lugia - Ho-oh - Celebi - Kyogre Groudon - Rayquaza - Jirachi - Deoxys - Dialga - Palkia Giratina - Phione - Manaphy - Darkrai - Shaymin - Arceus When you get inside the Battle Tower, there are 3 ports of call. On the right is the WiFi area. This allows you to send a team up to the Internet to be downloaded and it also downl;oads a team that will crop up while you are battling in the battle tower. However the other two rooms are the ones that are important: Standard Battles In the middle door is where Standard Battles occur. These can be in both Single and Double Battle mode allowing for you to test your Pokémon on some of the strongest computer players. The more you win in a row without a loss, the harder they get. However in Single Battle mode, like in Emerald, you will get to battle the Tower Tycoon on several occassions. The Tower Tycoon is one of the strongest trainers ever and requires some serious strategy and if you manage to beat him, you will get 20 BP. Below are his teams; On 21st Consecutive Battle Tower Tycoon Palmer Dragonite Milotic Rhyperior On 49th Consecutive Battle Tower Tycoon Palmer Heatran Regigigas Cresselia Multi Battles The final mode is the Multi Battle Mode. This mode allows you to team up with a friend via the DS Wireless Play function and tackle the Battle Tower as a team. However if you do not have any friends nearby or at all, fear not! There is a single player mode which allows you to team up with the trainers that you were teamed up with earlier in the game, provided of course you have done that event, Click Here for Locations. Going into a room with the 5 trainers in, you will be able to go up to them and talk to them. This will allow you to pick them to join you. However they do not just have the Pokémon they had when you had them earlier, they have a choice of many Pokémon, some of which may have multiple movesets and below are the Pokémon you may battle with if you select them: Cheryl From Eterna Forest Snorlax Espeon Umbreon Porygon2 Blissey Milotic Latias Latios Gastrodon Porygon-Z Kurseria Mira From Wayward Cave Alakazam Gengar Zapdos Espeon Gardevoir Latios Roserade Magnezone Magmortar Togekiss Glaceon Porygon-Z Riley From Iron Mountain Poliwrath Machamp Rhydon Gyarados Ursaring Tyranitar Blaziken Breloom Slaking Hariyama Medicham Absol Salamence Metagross Rampardos Lucario Toxicroak Rhyperior Mamoswine Regigigas Marley From Victory Road Dugtrio Electrode Starmie Aerodactyl Crobat Sceptile Swellow Ninjask Weavile Buck From Stark Mountain Umbreon Forretress Steelix Shuckle Skarmory Regirock Regice Registeel Bastiodon Rhyperior Probopass Dusknoir Cresselia |

| Daily/Weekly Events As the DS has an internal Clock & Internal Dates, you are able to have certain things happen every day, or every week. Below, is a list of all of these events, what they give you and how to activate them: Sandgem Town Each day, after obtaining the National Dex, there are swarms of Pokémon throughout the Routes of Sinnoh. The Pokémon and place in question changes each day. You can just go to the route and have a look or take a chance that a TV somewhere in Sinnoh tells you, alternatively, you could just go to Dawn/Lucas' sister in Sandgem Town. She will tell you exactly what Pokémon is where. Jubilife City In Jubilife City, there is the TV station, at the reception of the TV station is the Pokémon Lottery. Each day the Number changes. Going from the end, you will get prizes if your Pokémon match any of the Numbers in order. Below are the prizes: All Numbers Last 4 Last 3 Last 2 Last 1 Master Ball Max Revive EXP Share PP Up Contest Backdrop Jubilife City Just left of the Lottery Counter will be a trainer. This trainer will always ask you whether you wish to battle or not. The trainer however changes every day and thus the Pokémon also change every day. These battles will wind up on the television reports too and can be sent via mixing records. Floaroma Town In the Accessory shop in Floaroma Town, there is a girl in it that will kindly give you a Berry every day. The berries are the berries you find earlier on. Valley Windworks Every Friday, a Drifloon appears right by the Valley Windworks. It will appear every Friday like clockwork after ridding the area of Team Galactic. It is at Level 20 so be ready. Sinnoh Underground Every day, all of the hikers dotted around the entire Sinnoh Underground change the items that they exchange. If you see a rare item, you should try and snap it up on that day, as you do not know when it will appear again. Route 208 Just before getting to Hearthome City is the Berry Master's House. Like many others in Sinnoh, he will gladly give you a new berry each day so keep going back. Solaceon Town In the house right next to the PokéCenter in Solaceon Town is a news reporter. he will always ask you to catch and show him a Pokémon. The Pokémon he asks for are always Pokémon that you have at least seen so it should be an easy feat to accomplish. In reward for the Pokémon that you show him, he will give you a reward of 3 PokéBalls of all kinds, except Masterballs, PremiumBalls and CherishBalls. Dive Ball Dusk Ball Great Ball Heal Ball Luxury Ball Nest Ball Net Ball PokéBall Quick Ball Repeat Ball Timer Ball Ultra Ball Veilstone City In the south-west of Veilstone City, there is a lady that will happily give your Pokémon a massage. This massage will boost your Pokémon's happiness and it may even find a cool new contest accessory for your Pokémon. Massage Accessory List Pastoria City In the west-most house of Pastoria, a lady will gladly give you a berry. These berries are among the new berries of Sinnoh and are fairly rare. Below is a list of the berries that you can get: Occa Berry Passho Berry Wacan Berry Rindo Berry Yache Berry Chople Berry Kabia Berry Shuca Berry Coba Berry Payapa Berry Tanga Berry Charti Berry Kasib Berry Haban Berry Colbur Berry Babiri Berry Chilan Berry Great Marsh In the Safari Zone inside the Great Marsh by Pastoria City, the Pokémon in each location each day are changed so you will likely never get the same Pokémon in the same place as often as in the past. Safari Zone Pokémon List Trophy Garden In the Mansion on Route 214, after you have obtained the National Dex, you will be able to speak to the owner, Mr. Backlot. By following his conversation each day, he will tell you of a new rare Pokémon that has been found in his Trophy Garden. The Pokémon he tells you will be there for today and tomorrow, but will be replaced after that so you will have to wait for him to call it back again if you want another to catch. Mansion Pokémon List Valor Lakefront In the restaurant at the Valor Lakefront by the Grand Hotel, there will be a handful of new trainers every day whom wish to battle with you, they change every day, but are only able to battle between 9am and 11pm so keep your eye on that Pokétch. Celestic Town In the PokéCenter in Celestic, if you show the man a Pokémon who is incredibly happy, he will give you a Great Ball. A handy thing to get every day. Snowpoint Town In the house to the North East of Snowpoint Town. Each day, he will kindly give you a new word for your Vocabulary for you to use in interviews. Sunyshore City In the north-east of Sunyshore City is a girl that wants you to tell a story. Using words in your vocabulary, if it fits, she'll give you a ribbon. There are 7 ribbons in all and she'll give them to the Pokémon in pole position in your party. Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday Sunday Alert Ribbon Shock Ribbon Downcast Ribbon Careless Ribbon Relax Ribbon Snooze Ribbon Smile Ribbon Sunyshore Market Everyday in the Market of Sunyshore City, the Seal Seller will change the Seals that he sells for the day. Every day there are new seals so be sure to check back every day for the seals that you want. Route 221 On Route 221, there will be a man in a house who wants to see a Pokémon of a particular level. If you get a Pokémon of that level to him, he will give you an item, a handy battle item. He gives three items in the succession of which time it is that you have given and then repeats. First Second Third Black Belt Expert Belt Focus Sash Pal Park After getting the National Dex, you are capable of transferring 6 Pokémon per day per Gameboy Advance cart. These Pokémon are then able to be found at Pal Park on Route 221 to capture. You can only do this once per day for each GBA game so make sure to send the right ones over. Fight Area In the Fight Area, on Saturdays & Sundays, your rival will appear for you to battle. He is at a higher level (Pokémon at around level 60) than before so be sure to practice. This is an easy way for you to level up your Pokémon too. Resort Area Once you have completed the Master Rank in all contests, you have access to the exclusive club. This club has a few benefits including a daily massage. However, unlike the massage in Veilstone...this massage greatly boosts your Pokémon's happiness, but it does not find any contest accessories. Definitely the place to go to boost your Pokémon's happiness. |

| Pal Park Found on Route 221 after you get the National Pokédex, Pal Park is the only means of transferring the Pokémon to your game from your past games. However this only works with games of the same language and region. After you have selected the 6 Pokémon you want to transfer in the menu before loading your game, go to the Pal Park in Route 221 and they will give you the Park Balls. Now these balls have a 100% capture rate and once you find your Pokémon, you cannot even run so you have to capture it. And thus you go in There are many areas to find the Pokémon in, with the Pokémon going into the certain area that fit with the Pokémon. For example Sea Pokémon going into the small sea area in the Park. There is also a Pond area for the Pokémon to be found in, aswell as a Mountain Side. However just being there does not consittute as you finding the Pokémon. Some Pokémon can be very very rare and hard to find. And there is the usual Grass areas that a lot of the Pokémon will be found in. Both Short Grass and Tall Grass and they're all around the park. When you meet the Pokémon, they have the exact same stats, level, moveset, Effort Values and keep whether its Shiny and keeps its Original Trainer and location. Just throw the Park Ball and its yours. It IS the exact same Pokémon as you had on your old game so do not worry. If you managed to capture all of your Pokémon within a certain time constraint, you will be congratulated and the Pal Park Ranger will give you a special Berry. |

| Sinnoh Underground Unlike the previous regions, the area of Sinnoh has a hidden underground area. This area has a variety of functions, many of which utilise the DS to DS linkup, but it does not require it. To access it you need to obtain the Explore Kit in Eterna City. With this item in your Key Items Pocket, you will be able to go underground. Where ever you are in Sinnoh sets the part of the Underground you go into, some of which is closed off so you need to enter it at various different places in Sinnoh in order to go everywhere. Compare the pictures as such. The Top Left, Top Right, Bottom Left & Bottom Right specifically are cut off, only accessible from those areas in Sinnoh. Once you leave the Underground, you will return to where you entered it. Each area has items of various rarities up for trade from the hikers. Sinnoh OverworldSinnoh Overworld To activate the many events including obstacles and Fossil Hunting, all you have to do is follow the shines on the Map on the Top Screen and when you're close to one, just press the Touch Screen and if there are any by you then you will see a Shining Diamond. Just go up to it and you will activate it. The Sinnoh Underground is also vital if you wish to get the Pokémon, Spiritomb. Excavation The main thing that you do in the Sinnoh Underground is Excavating in the walls for various items. After locating them, this is controlled purely with the touch screen. It gives you a Pick Axe and a Hammer to use to try and break through the rocks in order to find 2 to 4 items. However there is a limit on how much stress you can induce on the wall through this before the wall collapses itself. To make things worse, there a good number of rocks that are just there to take up space that can cause a cave in if you keep hitting them. There are a number of items that are found here including all the evolution stones, shards that are used to trade for evolution stones, the different plates used for Arceus and various items such as Revives and Hard Stones. You can also find all of the fossils here after you get the National Dex; Dome Fossil, Helix Fossil, Old Amber, Claw Fossil & Root Fossil. Also you can get the Armor Fossil & Skull Fossil depending on your version at any time. However unlike in past games, you can have any number of these fossils on you so you can go revive 20 Omanytes or Anoriths if you do so wish. The other thing you will find is the currency of the Underground; Spheres. There are 5 different kinds of Spheres found in the underground; Reds, Blues, Greens, Prisms & Pales. However, when you keep getting them, they are not combined and there is only way to combine them and that does cause a loss in the Spheres. What you do is drop the highest amount you have on the ground and keep dropping each subsequent piece onto the ground and then pick it up. You will get the original drop amount plus the extra amounts. Below is a table that states the amounts that are given for the Spheres of particular sizes: Original Size Added Size 1 - 4 +1 5 - 9 +2 10 - 14 +3 15 - 19 +4 20 - 24 +5 24 - 29 +6 30 - 34 +7 35+ +10 There is another way to get Spheres however, in the far corners of the underground, there are traders that will give you large amounts of gems (in quantities of over 70) in exchange for items you have found. However, be careful as some of the items you find you will only get once such as the Arceus plates. Secret Bases Secret Bases make a welcome return. Placed within the Underground world in Sinnoh, you can decorate them like in Ruby & Sapphire. To access them, you need to get a Drill from the old man in Eterna City. This Drill is one use so you have to be careful. However you can pick up another one from the hikers for a price. Once you have created your Base, you'll want to kit it out and hidden amongst the underground are a number of Hikers, all of which sell specific items for a certain amount of the Spheres explained above. Each of the hikers sell different things for your Secret Base for a various amount of Spheres, some of which will definitely require you compile them with the above method. Then you simply kit it out when you get inside the Secret Base. You can also obtain more items with Mr. E Good's Tasks Secret Bases do have another use however... Flag Retrieval Flag Retrieval is a small mini-game that you and a friend can play. Simply put you need to go to your friend's secret base to get a flag. However your friends are capable of placing traps such as strong wind, boulders etc. to stop you from progressing. The first back wins the game. The Winner manages to get upgrades to their own Secret Base so they can place more items in it. There are multiple different levels in the Flag Retrieval, the highest being the Platinum level, obtained by capturing 50 flags from your friend's bases. If you have this ranking, you can remove all of the annoying rocks in your Secret Base. Underground Man Next to the Pokémon Center in Eterna City is the man that gives you the Explore Kit. Once you have the Explore Kit however, he gives you many tasks that you are to do in the Underground. Do the missions of his, and he'll give you many things. Below is a list of his missions; Task Reward Go Underground Move Trap (Up), Bubble Trap, Leaf Trap Dig Up an Item Prism Sphere 1, Red Sphere 1, Blue Sphere 1 Bury a Sphere Digger Drill Make a Secret Base Plain Table, Wooden Chair, Small Bookshelf, Buneary Doll Decorate Secret Base Doll of your Starter (Turtwig, Chimchar or Piplup) Capture 1 Flag Bronze Flag, Base Upgrade (Up to 12 Decorations), Pretty Gem Capture 3 Flags Silver Flag, Base Upgrade (Up to 15 Decorations), Shiny Gem Capture 10 Flags Gold Flag, Base Upgrade (10 Rocks Removed), Mystic Gem Capture 50 Flags Platinum Flag, Base Upgrade (All Rocks Removed), Glitter Gem Here is a list of the items that you are able to find in the Sinnoh Underground and their rarity within it: Spheres Name Effect Rarity Blue Sphere Used to Barter with - Worth 1 to 10 Common Blue Sphere Used to Barter with - Worth 11 to 21 Common Green Sphere Used to Barter with - Worth 1 to 10 Common Green Sphere Used to Barter with - Worth 11 to 21 Common Pale Sphere Used to Barter with - Worth 1 to 10 Uncommon Pale Sphere Used to Barter with - Worth 11 to 21 Uncommon Prism Sphere Used to Barter with - Worth 1 to 10 Uncommon Prism Sphere Used to Barter with - Worth 11 to 21 Uncommon Red Sphere Used to Barter with - Worth 1 to 10 Common Red Sphere Used to Barter with - Worth 11 to 21 Common Fossils Name Effect Rarity Armor Fossil Revives into Shieldon Uncommon (Pearl Only) Claw Fossil Revives into Anorith Rare (After National Dex) Can be found Rotated by 90, 180 or 270 degrees Dome Fossil Revives into Kabuto Rare (After National Dex) Helix Fossil Revives into Omanyte Rare (After National Dex) Can be found Rotated by 90, 180 or 270 degrees Old Amber Revives into Aerodactyle Rare (After National Dex) Can be found Rotated by 90 degrees Root Fossil Revives into Lileep Rare (After National Dex) Can be found Rotated by 90, 180 or 270 degrees Skull Fossil Revives into Cranidos Uncommon (Diamond Only) Plates Name Effect Rarity Draco Plate Raises power of Dragon moves Very Rare Dread Plate Raises power of Dark moves Very Rare Earth Plate Raises power of Ground moves Very Rare Fist Plate Raises power of Fighting moves Very Rare Flame Plate Raises power of Fire moves Very Rare Icicle Plate Raises power of Ice moves Very Rare Insect Plate Raises power of Bug moves Very Rare Iron Plate Raises power of Steel moves Very Rare Meadow Plate Raises power of Grass moves Very Rare Mind Plate Raises power of Psychic moves Very Rare Sky Plate Raises power of Flying moves Very Rare Splash Plate Raises power of Water moves Very Rare Spooky Plate Raises power of Ghost moves Very Rare Stone Plate Raises power of Rock moves Very Rare Toxic Plate Raises power of Poison moves Very Rare Zap Plate Raises power of Electric moves Very Rare Other Items Name Effect Rarity Blue Shard A shard of a bigger plate Uncommon Damp Rock Prolongs number of turns of Rain Dance Very Rare (Before Nat Dex) Rare (After Nat Dex) Everstone Prevents user from evolving when equipped Very Rare (Before Nat Dex) Uncommon (After Nat Dex) Fire Stone A stone that can be used to evolve Growlithe, Vulpix and Eevee Very Rare (Before Nat Dex) Uncommon (After Nat Dex) Green Shard A shard of a bigger plate Uncommon Hard Stone Any Rock-type move's power is increased by 10% Very Rare (Before Nat Dex) Uncommon (After Nat Dex) Heart Scale A rare scale. Go to the Ranger Net and start sending the invitation of the Egg out through the Wireless function. Then on DP, in the menu it should pick up the Wireless Signal and the Manaphy Egg will be sent over to your game. Success! You now have the Manaphy Egg. To collect the egg, go into any PokéMart in Sinnoh. There will be a man there and he will give you the egg Now, you have the egg, just go walking for 2,560 steps. After this, the Egg will hatch, in a different way than usual Eggs hatching. It osolates and then glows and turns into Manaphy. Hatching at Level 1, Manaphy is now yours. You can only send the one egg to this game of Diamond or Pearl and you can only send one Egg through your Ranger save, so cherish this Manaphy. The Phione Factor Phione, #489 in the Sinnoh Pokédex is one that normally you would NOT see in the entire game even if you were a veteran trainer unless you went online. Why? Because it is the offspring of Manaphy. Manaphy is the first legendary Pokémon that can breed. However, it is only capable of breeding with Ditto. Breed Manaphy with a Ditto and the Pokémon spawned will be Phione. Phione is like Manaphy in every way. That said, Phione's Base Stats are all 20 less than Manaphy's and Phione lacks two of Manaphy's signiture moves; Heart Swap & Tail Glow. Everything else though such as the rest of the Learnset and Breeding abilities are identical. So if you're lording your Manaphy off to your friends who don't have Ranger and they want it, just give them a Phione. |

| Deoxys, the Space Virus Pokémon introduced in Ruby & Sapphire has 4 forms spread across the games. However in the past, you had to trade your Deoxys across the games, this is no more. The Deoxys Factor In Veilstone City, you have the ability to change your Deoxys form. In the east of the city there are 4 Meteorites. When you have Deoxys with you in your party, talk to them and they will change your Deoxy's Form. * Top - Speed Deoxys * Middle - Normal Deoxys * Bottom Left - Attack Deoxys * Bottom Right - Defense Deoxys All Deoxys forms have different stats and learnsets so this could be handy if you want a particular form of Deoxys that knows a certain attack. |

| The Burmy Factor Burmy, what appears on first glance to be your standard Bug Pokémon that is only obtainable on trees, however Burmy has a difference that very few others have...it changes its form. This form difference is not based on the game version, or weather, this Pokémon's form changes entirely on where it last battled. However this does bring in interesting factoids about it when the female version evolves. When a female Burmy evolves at LV. 20, it keeps the form it was in when it evolved. Grass Form The more commonly seen form of Burmy you will see is the Grass Form. This form appears when you battle Wild Pokémon or trainers in Grass, Forests or just General green areas. When it evolves into Wormadam, this form of Wormadam gains the Grass Type which adds to its weaknesses, it has a different moveset to the others and the following Base Stats: Types HP Attack Defense Sp. Att. Sp. Def. Speed Bug/Grass 60 59 85 79 105 36 Ground Form The next Burmy form is the Yellow Ground Form. This form is obtained after battling in caves, ruins or on roads. | The Rotom Factor Rotom is a rather well hidden Pokémon, you are not likely to see it unless you specifically go hunting for it. It is even well hidden within the area that it is located. Below is how to get it: Hidden towards the exit of Eterna Forest, there is a little path up that goes to the Old Chateau. Once you have the National Dex, Make sure to go there in the evening or at Night. Inside, you'll find many rooms, some of which have creepy ghosts of people as well as many ghost type Pokémon. Once you're inside, make sure to go upstairs In one of the rooms upstairs, there will be a Television which happens to be turned on. Click A to see it and you should encounter Rotom, if not...then come back later on in the night. Rotom is at Level 15 so you have to be incredibly careful with it. |

| The Arceus Factor Arceus is the final Pokémon in the National Pokédex in the fourth Generation. Being called the Creation Pokémon, it is thought to be the God of all Pokémon. Being a god requires it to be incredibly powerful, which of course it is, with the highest base stat total in the entire history of Pokémon. However, its trademark ability is a rather interesting one which involves form change is to explain all of the forms and use display them for you to see. Throughout the game, you will find certain Plates that look like the picture to the left. Thesee plates serve no other purpose so be sure to store them. Each time you get one, you're able to unlock another piece of the Myth about Arceus, which will be posted here once we've finished translating. When these Plates are attached to Arceus, his colouring shall change and as will his type. With his stats and massive movepool, this is an incredibly handy thing for Arceus. Without any Item attached, Arceus has the Normal Type . Below is a chart of the items, Arceus types and locations of the plates that are required. | The Spiritomb Factor Spiritomb is an incredibly unique Pokémon. Being of the Dark/Ghost type like Sableye, it has no weaknesses. This page deals with the method used to obtain Spiritomb, one of the most long-winded ways to get a Pokémon: The first thing that you need to do is get a Odd Keystone. You may find one lying about in Sinnoh, but it'ld be easier to find it in the Sinnoh Underground while digging, although it will be a bit rare. Take the Odd Keystone to the Spirit Tower Well in Route 209 and Place it inside the Well. This will activate the event for Spiritomb Next you need to go to the Sinnoh Underground and talk to 32 People there in total. These do not include the Hikers that give you items. While this does sound like a Daunting Task, what you can do is exit and enter 32 times and talk to the same person. Each time this will count as talking to a different person so although it will take time, it can be done as long as you have a friend with Diamond & Pearl. Remember the Sinnoh Underground is DS Wireless, not WiFi so you need to physically be near your friend in order to do this Now with 32 people talked to, go back to the Spirit Tower Well in Route 209 and you will battle a Wild Spiritomb. It is fairly low level so be weary. You can do this multiple times as you can get multiple Odd Keystones but it can get a bit long winded so it may be best just to breed to get that perfect Spiritomb. |

| Mystery Gift Mystery Gift, a function in the games since Gold/Silver makes a welcome return in Diamond & Pearl. Its uses however are limited and almost all require you to be at a Nintendo-held event: First, to activate the Mystery Gift function, go to the Jubilife TV Center..on the second floor, there is a man who accepts sayings from you. Tell him the following; "EVERYONE HAPPY" & "WI-FI CONNECTION" and he shall say he can pull some strings and get your Mystery Gift. Save your game and reset Mystery Gift MenuOn the main menu now will be the Mystery Gift feature. Mystery Gift has several options for you to utilise; "Get From A Friend", "Get Via Wireless" & "Get Via Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection" Get From Friend In some circumstances, you will obtain a Mystery Gift from an event that you will be able to share with a friend. Get Via Wireless This function is likely to be the more common function that you will use. When at a Nintendo Event, such as the upcoming Darkrai Event in Japan, if you use the Get from Wireless Function, you will be sent a Wonder Card that contains the Darkrai, or in the case of the other events that are likely to happen over time This function is also used with the Wii Game Pokémon Battle Revolution. During your completion of the game, you will accumulate many PokéCoupons that you can purchase items with. These are then sent through the Wii's Wireless functions to your DS by having you access this Mystery Gift function. Battle Revolution Wireless Connection This is also they way that the special Pikachu, Electivire & Magmortar are sent from Battle Revolution Mystery Gift WiFiGet Via Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection Possibly the most intriguing option is the ability to get a Mystery Gift from the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. It is currently unknown if Nintendo will fully utilise this feature for the distribution of rare Pokémon and items later on in the game's life. Currently, however, there is nothing there. You need to wait for Nintendo to host an online-event stating when to connect and for what for it to reap any benefits Hopefully this article has alleviated much confusion about the Mystery Gift and how to utilise it, essentially there being no way to do it until Nintendo holds an event, you cannot just do it between friends as was possible with Gold, Silver & Crystal. |

| Breeding Changes Introduced in Gold & Silver, breeding gives you access to transfer attacks, natures and so forth onto the Pokémon and train them from a low level. However, Diamond & Pearl have brought many new things into the Breeding fold. The most notable of which is the fact that now Eggs do not hatch at Level 5 but rather Level 1, which truely does make more sense in the game standards with there being Wild Pokémon at a level lower than Level 5. They have also keept all the new breeding additions that were brought in via Pokémon Emerald; * Highly increased chance of passing on Natures by having the Everstone attached to the Female Pokémon * The abilities Magma Armor & Flame Body cutting the amount of Steps required to hatch the egg This allows for you to be able to pin down specific natures that you wish your Pokémon to have. Baby Pokémon Introduced in Gold/Silver, Pre-Evolutions of Pokémon exist in the games, however since the Pokémon existed in Gold & Silver where you could breed, Incenses were added to the fold in Ruby & Sapphire to allow for more pre-evolutions and this game is no different. With seven pre-evolutions appearing in Diamond & Pearl, there are seven new Incenses that allow for Pokémon to breed. However it is note worthy that in Diamond & Pearl, you can find most of these Pre-Evolutions in the wild. Below are the Pokémon and the item that is required to trade: Base No. Base Name Method No. Pkmn to Breed #406 Budew Rose Incense #315 Roselia #407 Roserade #433 Chingling Pure Incense #358 Chimecho #438 Bonsly Rock Incense #185 Sudowoodo #439 Mime Jr. Odd Incense #122 Mr. Mime #440 Happiny Luck Incense #113 Chansey #242 Blissey #446 Munchlax Full Incense #143 Snorlax #458 Mantyke Wave Incense #226 Mantine The Manaphy Factor Manaphy adds another thing to the breeding area. First and foremost, it is the only legendary Pokémon that is capable of Breeding. However since it is Genderless like other legendaries, it can only breed with Ditto. When you first get Manaphy, it will be in its own different kind of Egg which requires the standard amount of time to hatch. Like other eggs, it also hatches at Level 1. However, Manaphy is not along in the evolution chain. It has a pre-evolved form that it cannot evolve from. Put Manaphy into the Breeding Centre with a Ditto and you shall get a standard Egg. When this egg hatches, it contains the Ocean Pokémon, Phione. Phione is a Pokémon similar to Manaphy in every way except for having lower stats and a reduced movepool. Phione can also breed but it will only produce other Phione's and not Manaphy. This makes manaphy the only Pokémon that spawns a pre-evolved form which does not have the ability to evolve back into it. Phione Manaphy Water <-> Water |

| Gender Differences In Pokémon Gold & Silver, Genders were created to allow for breeding of the Pokémon. Genders have since become a staple of the Pokémon World. There were no differences between Genders in the games, except for the Nidoran line...until now. Diamond & Pearl have brought the feature of Gender differences to the table. However, this is not utilised for every Pokémon, and not all are visible from the front. Only one fifth of the Pokémon have differences between gender. In the game, if you have seen the differences, you can check in part of the Pokédex as seen in the picture here. However, below is a list of all of the Pokémon with differences and a note as to what the difference is. This feature allows you to keep tabs on the Pokémon that you have stored at the Breeding Centre. It shows their current level, so that you know how many levels it has gone up since it has been there, and it shows the actual Pokémon and any egg that the Pokémon create. Very handy for breeders and trainers to know when their breeding is complete Location: Obtained in the Daycare Centre in Solaceon Town #10 - Pokémon History This function allows you to see the last 12 Pokémon that you have captured, hatched, evolved and received through trades. | The Pokeball Seals Although this is a minor aesthetic feature, it is cool nonetheless. You are capable of customising your Pokéballs by adding Seals on which change the effect of the Pokéball when it releases: Your first port of call would be to get the Seal Pack in the house just west of the Unown Ruins. With this you will now be able to go to a Market in Sunyshore City. In this Market, you are capable of purchasing many different kinds of Seals. They sell different Seals on different days and there are many kinds and strength of Seals. They are usually fairly cheap at 50 to 150 PokéDollars so it'ld be worth stocking up Now that you have stocked up on Seals, go to any PC and pick the second option, the option that used to be your Item PC (which has now been scrapped). Select the second option and you will get given a choice of Twelve Pokéballs. This is the amount of designs you are capable of storing. Select the one you wish to edit and you can go into the next screen. On this screen however, you are also capable of assigning Pokémon to the design. On this screen, you can select the designs that you have bought and place them on the Ball. You can place a fair few Seals onto the ball so you can amplify and make different combinations of Patterns and Graphics for when your Pokémon is sent into battle. You then save and assign to the Pokémon. In the selection screen, the Pokémon will have a crystal Pokéball icon net to their attached items. The effects have a massive range, from Lightning Bolts to Black Hearts, you can personalise your Pokéballs for your team so if you have a Mismagius on your team, you can really go with it with many Dark and Ghost Like Seals. There are also some Seals that are given to you depending on the forms of Unown that you have captured. This enables you to put seals on your Pokéballs that spell out your Pokémon's name as it is sent out into battle Here are the names of the types of seals you can get. You get different choices every day so keep checking: * Heart Seal (A-F) - Gives Heart Effect * Star Seal (A-F) - Gives Star Effect * Line Seal (A-D) - Gives Line Effect * Smoke Seal (A-D) - Gives Smoke Effect * Ele-Seal (A-D) - Gives Electric Bolt Effect * Foamy Seal (A-D) - Gives Foam Effect * Fire Seal (A-D) - Gives Flame Effect * Party Seal (A-D) - Gives Party-Popper Effect * Flora Seal (A-D) - Gives Flower Effect * Song Seal (A-D) - Gives Musical Effect * A Seal - Z Seal (Unown) - Gives Letter Effect * Shock Seal * Mystery Seal |

| International/Foreign Dex Entries Normally, when you transfer a Pokémon from different language games, you don't get any recognition that they are from another country except for through their nickname. However, this is no longer true with Diamond & Pearl: In Route 226, there is a house with a Hiker in. On the noticeboard there is a notice giving a list of Pokémon. These are all the Pokémon that have alternate Dex Entries. Now how do you get them you ask? Thats the easy part. There are actually several ways to obtain them; * Transfer them from your Different Language Game to a Japanese Game and upload them via Pal Park * Get one off of the Global Trading Centre * Trade for one with your friends, of whom did one of the above The Pokémon that are affected by this cool new feature are as follows: Ekans Pikachu Psyduck Ponyta Staryu Magikarp Wobbuffet Heracross Sneasel Teddiursa Houndour Wingull Slakoth Roselia Now once you have done this, when you go to the Pokédex entry for the Pokémon, on the bottom screen below the buttons to go previous or next will be an option for you to switch between different languages. These include Japanese, English, French, German, Spanish & Italian. Just to give you a taster of this function. The hiker in the house will trade you his Magikarp for a Finneon. While it doesn't seem like a fair trade, his Magikarp is German and this gives you a perfect example of this new feature as seen to the right. |

| The Time of Day A Returning feature to the Pokémon games is the feature revolving around Time. The time is set by the DS's clock and confirmed as you start the game. It is constantly checkable in the Pokétch Feature. However unlike GSC where there was just Day Night and Morning, there are several new time areas being used . Morning Morning...the time period that you wake up in. When it's morning in the games, the area is darker than normal but still pretty visible Daytime Daytime is the General time set between Morning and Afternoon. This is when everything will be at it's Brightest Afternoon In the afternoon, the screen areas have a nice Orange tint to simulate the Sunlight at Dusk and also provide a phasing into night Evening In the small gap between Afternoon and NightTime the screen gets darker to simulate the time period closer to night and the lights on the building are all on Night And Finally at Night, gone midnight, it is dark and all the buildings have lights turned off to simulate the fact that nobody would be awake |

| The Trainer Card Trainer Cards, a staple of Pokémon. These cards show your Trainer ID, Badges and Pokédex Completion. However in DP there are a couple of changes and additions. Firstly there is a Point System which scores your battling abilities Generally as you go through the game. Below are the different levels of card (Note: you can get the cards in any order but it goes up sequentially so for example the way we say to get Star #2 can be done to get Star #5 and so forth): Base - Red Card The first card you will have is the Rileyeric Red one which contains no Stars on it. You will see this a lot in the game until you have go to the Elite Four #1 - Blue Card The next card that you obtain is Generally obtained through the defeat of the Elite Four. Once you have defeated them, you will have the next star, which for this scenario is the Blue Card #2 - Bronze Card The next card that you obtain is Generally obtained through Contests. Once you defeat the Master Rank in all the Contest Categories; Beauty, Cool, Cute, Smart & Tough, you will obtain this card, in this case...a Bronze Card #3 - Silver Card The next card that you obtain is Generally obtained through the Capture the Flag MiniGame Underground. Simply put, once you have completed this while playing with others, you will get the next card, in this case...a Silver Card #4 - Gold Card The penultimate card that you obtain is obtained via the Completion of the National Dex. What this requires you to do is get 482 Pokémon registered as owned in your Pokédex. This discounts; Mew, Lugia, Ho-oh, Celebi, Jirachi, Deoxys, Phione, Manaphy, Darkrai, Shaymin & Arceus. This will give you the next card, in this case...the Gold Card #5 - Black Card The Final Card is the elusive 5 Star Black Card. This is obtained last, in our example, it is obtained by getting 100 consecutive wins in the Battle Tower. By no means an easy feat. Once this is done, you will have maxed out the Trainer Card! Bottom - Badge Display In Diamond & Pearl, the Badges are actually displayed in their full glory. However if you go for a few days without checking them, they will get rather dull and grimey so using the DS's touchscreen, you can actually clean the Badges until they're so prestine that they have 4 Sparkles around them. Perfect to show off over the WiFi Union Room |

| The Ribbon Society Hidden away in the Resort Area in the North East of Sinnoh is the Ribbon Society. This building is a rather exclusive place that you will be hard pressed to enter. There are entry requirements for you to become a member. These requirements involve Ribbons. Any Pokémon on your party has to have at least 10 Ribbons on it alone. This will give you access to the Ribbon Society...where everybody knows your name, and the greeter is always glad you came. The Ribbon society take pride in the fact that you wont find many people in the club at any one time so there are few people to talk to. At the reception desk, there is a lady who will sell you some glamourous ribbons, which you wont find anywhere. These Ribbons will be put on the Pokémon at the head of the party. You can only get one at a time and the Club cycles through the Ribbons below. Below are the ribbons and their price: Gorgeous Ribbon - Royal Ribbon - Gorgeous-Royal Ribbon 10,000 - 100,000 - 999,999 Finally, on the second floor of the club, there are 4 ladies who will gladly give the top Pokémon of your party a mssage. The massage in this area increases the happiness of your Pokémon more than the massage elsewhere in Sinnoh. These will only give it once a day so be sure to use it wisely. |

| PokeBread AKA. Poffins Pofin, or PokéBread as it has been nicknamed, is the replacement to the Pokéblocks utilised in Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald. First you need to get the Pack to store them. Then using the Berries that you find within the game, you can go to the Bread Maker in one of the towns and start the process. Blending What you do is put in the berry you wish to use and use the DS's touch screen to rotate anti-clockwise as the arrow is portraying in order to blend the Bread.. Now you can do this slowly or quickly, it all depends on the level of the bread you wish Results Now once you're done and have the Bread, you are capable of assessing your results. Based on your speed, accuracy as well as the type of Berry used, your Bread gets a certain level. This level helps determine what stats it boosts up; Beauty, Cool, Cute, Smart or Tough. Since it's been baked, give it to the Pokémon of your choice and prepare for the Super Contests. |

| New Pokedex Features The Pokédex is a feature that has been in every Pokémon game, however with the transfer of the game series onto the DS, there have been a few changes. First, the main control and browsing is implemented on the touch screen allowing you to scroll through the Pokémon at will and then selecting the Pokémon Dex Entry When you select the Pokémon, you get a number of options for what to display. They are as follows: * Dex Entry * Area * Cry * Height * Weight This comes with an exit button and a Back and Next Button set which can also be accessed through the B & A buttons respectively. This page shows the standard Pokédex Entry for Buizel Pokémon's Cry The Pokémon's Cry is done a different way. You can select the play button on the touchscreen and increase the speed and pitch of the cry Height Comparison The Height Comparison has a slight difference to the normal size comparison from previous games This allows you to really get a scope of how tall the Pokémon really are. Weight Comparison A newly added feature is the comparison of the Pokémon's Weight. Your character and the Pokémon in question are put on scales to determine who is heavier. Again this allows you to really get a scope of how heavy the Pokémon are |

| Wi-Fi! Battling your friends has been a staple of the Pokémon Games. Always wanting to battle your friends. However, what if your friend was in a different town, a different country...or even a different continent. Well in Pokémon Diamond & Pearl, and later in Battle Revolution...this is a worry of the past. Downstairs in the Pokémon Center is a special area to allow for WiFi connection. Friend Code Practices Registering Friends First step is to register your Friends with the Center Admin on the right of the Pokémon Center's basement Wi-Fi Corner. Upon your first visit, she will give you the Pal Pad which contains all of your friend's details, records and your own personal friend code. This code is vital for your online Pokémon endeavours. Once you go into the Pal Pad, and register a friend, you can go to the desk and conenct, providing of course, you have a valid WiFi Access Point within your DS's sights (Wireless sights, not physical). Once there, you will be in a lobby of sorts which lists all of your friends that you have connected. From here you can select the choices; Battle or Trade Trade Trading is the main option you'll be looking for in order to complete your Pokédex. if you have Diamond and your friend has Pearl, this is an easy way to get the Pokémon that you want. The trade works like all trades have worked through Pokémon games in the past so the setup shouldn't be that hard. Just select the Pokemon you're going to trade, they'll select theirs and it's traded. Voice Chat is usually active through the entire trade so you can discuss with your friend what you want right there and then. Handy eh? Battle Battling, the way you test your skills with your friends. Battling can be done one of two ways; Single Battle or Double Battle. Unfortunately, you are only able to battle one friend at a time over WiFi. Battling works the same way as it does throughout the entire game so be sure to practice and EV train your Pokémon before you battles with your friend's on the 2D plain. Voice Chat is enabled as default during battle so that you can heckle your friends if you feel the need has arisen. Friend Code-less Practices Battle Tower WiFi Room In the Battle Tower in the Battle Area, there is a facility for you to battle 'people' you have not got on your friend's list. This however is done through the uploading and downloading of teams. In the Wi-Fi Room of the Battle Tower, you are given the opportunity to upload your own team to the Pokémon Servers. You can then download 7 random teams to battle inside the Battle Tower's WiFi room. These are the teams that people have uploaded, but they're actually controlled by the computer. Although this is nothing like the Random Battles seen in Battle Revolution, it is a good place to start. Global Trade Center The Global Trade Center is likely to be the most commonly used WiFi feature. This building, placed in Jubilife City, allows for you to search for any Pokémon and trade that Pokémon instantaneously. There is one catch, you have to have seen the Pokémon yourself, so unless you have had one, you cannot search for a Bulbasaur or a Darkrai. You are also able to put any Pokémon of yours up for trade and with that, state specific Pokémon that you want in return, at certain genders or levels. A very easy way to trade indeed, saves the time of going onto message boards to do it. |

| Cross-Gen Trading aka. Migrating In the transition between the games Gold & Silver and Ruby & Sapphire, many trainers were disappointed and outraged at the lack of the capability for transferring their Pokémon. However in Diamond & Pearl, they have rectified this and allow you to trade your Pokémon from Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, FireRed or LeafGreen over to Diamond & Pearl. However since the DS cannot physically link to the GBAs, you have to do this a different way than expected. First you need to have obtained the National Dex and accessed Pal Park. Next, make sure the GBA game plugged into the GBA slot in the DS and Diamond or Pearl into the DS Slot. Then when you load up your DS, select Diamond or Pearl. 3rd Gen Requirements There are no limits on the 3rd Generation Games, you just have to have at least 7 Pokémon on your entire game 4th Gen Requirements To allow for this transfer, you need to have beaten the Elite Four and have the National Pokédex. Once you have done this, Professor Oak will invite you to Pal Park. Go there and save, Now, if you have the GBA game in your DS, you should have the option to transfer Pokémon Transfer Conditions There are a number of conditions of the transfer that you need to be aware of. Firstly, the transfer is one way. Your Pokémon will be gone from the 3rd Gen games and will not be able to put them back on the game. Go to the menu on the game and you will see an option for transfer. Go into it and it'll ask you to select 6 Pokémon. Select these six Pokémon and it will say that they are in Pal Park Now go into your game and go to Pal Park. In there, you will find your Pokémon in the tall grass or Waters all along Pal Park, dependant on their type. In the Park, you have Park Balls which have a 100% capture rate. You don't battle the Pokémon so you cannot accidentally knock it out. You are also capable of leaving the park at any time. You are just unable to transfer any more Pokémon until you have re-captured all of them This method is the only way you have to get some Pokémon such as Deoxys so you will use it as time goes on. Everything about the Pokémon stays the same; Nicknames, Item Attached, IDs, Attacks...everything stays exactly the same as before. So there is no need to worry about losing items, and this is the perfect way to get old items onto your Diamond & Pearl games There is one final snag, Pal Park is region blocked, if you have a Japanese GBA game, it will not work on a US Diamond and so forth for every possible combination. |
