| We honestly just talked about this one. Toradora: Minori or whatever her name was, is stupid as fuck. I hated her character maybe more then tiagas. Tiaga was stupid af, she got on my nerves, her only highlight was her fight scene. Four eyes was the bitch of the anime by far. Ami was the best character of the anime by far her development, character design, personality, looks, imo she had it all and i was crushed when the anime ended like it did. By the end of the anime she was the idea girl, and i think she should have been the front runner i would love to see her as the main female character. The Mc was just of a bitch as four eyes how do you let the loli carry you like that and then fuck her over by making her communicate with her dad who hasn't speaked to her in years.. He was stupid for his choice.. The anime overall was stupid imo. |

| Well then... I guess I'll just dive right in. My qualms with Tora-CopyOfLovelyComplex-Dora came from the characters, plot-development, and general ability to hold interest. Rom-Coms are notorious for having arguably horrible characters, just because they want humorous/tedious bouts to be instigated throughout the series for the purpose of filling up the space in their episodes. The problem with this in DoraTora was that Taiga was just kind of neutral in terms of not being bad, nor good--but when she interacted with other characters, her facade fell apart, and she became one of the most emotionally scatterbrained heroines I've ever seen. Which while funny, wasn't very enjoyable. Minori didn't add much to the story other than pointless tension--making her a plot device. This meant the viewers saw little of her, heard a lot about her, and (personally speaking) didn't have expectations of her as a "perfect" girl met. She just seemed like an unusually perky chick with rose-red hair. Yuusaku was really interesting as a rival to Ryuuji, but he didn't add too much to the drama of the series, and just kind of left me unsatisfied. Not much to say. Ryuuji was the run of the mill, "Let This Chick Step All Over Me" protagonist--which didn't float well with me. His actions were inconsistent with his mindset, and he was unusually kind to the mentally deranged females in the series, devolving the realism for laughs. The story was all in good fun, which meant the Rom-Com aspects came through fluently, and didn't stress too much romance, nor too much comedy. Very much SoL-type feel to the show, and conflicts that sat somewhat unresolved. Cute characters--but the interactions left something to be desired. All in All: It was a fun series, but I didn't enjoy it on the whole. Also, Ami was a goddess, and you should all love her. |

| @ Swerve - I like how you managed to spell Taiga's name wrong, differently each time. *Thumbs up* but GEESH I didn't realize there was this much hate for the show. It has to be one of my all time favorite romcom/slice of lifes. I did like LovelyComplex, but whether it was a bite off of it or not, I think Toradora did it better. I can go on and on about the show for days, but I won't. I respect your opinions guys! Okay on to the next. Someone else pick now! |
