Thought I should post this to get some discussions going here and perhaps some good recommendations for you guys.

So I will start.

#1 for me is a landslide compared to the following 2, that being: CLANNAD AFTER STORY

After watching the first season I found myself connected to the characters although the first 7-8 episodes almost made me stop the series completely. I struggled through it and found myself really enjoying the series and became anticipated for the sequel. I did not expect what I received after watching AS. To be blunt, it changed the way I am in real life. The emotions and messages it gave me were so intense at the time of my life that it affected my decision making and formed the person who I am today. I know that may sound pathetic to some people, like 'how can an anime change your life'? Well it did and I'm not embarrassed about that. If anything I think it changed me for the better. That is why it will always hold the top spot on my anime list.

#2 This is a tie between two beloved anime series I've watched at a younger age. I like them both too much to exclude my number 3. Maybe making a top 5 would of been easier but I think that would become too much to read. SO, at number 2 we have: Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad and Dragon Ball Z.

I watched both these series around the same time and fell in love with both. If it weren't for these shows I probably wouldn't be here today, making this post. Beck is the series that introduced me to the artform of anime, as I did't understand the concept of it while watching dragon ball z. After completing Beck I craved more and for the first time I searched online for what I came to know today as anime. Because of that, I found many other series that will be in my memory forever.

#3 This is the first tru anime movie experience I've had apart from the pokemon movies. Princess Mononoke.

Out of all the Studio Ghibli films, Mononoko has connected to me more than the others. The story and visuals captured me and made me feel as if I was apart of that world for the entire span of the film. It may be a bit bias seeming it was also the first Ghibli film I've seen but I've watched them all since then and my opinion on the matter has never changed.

So that is my top 3(4-ish...), how about you guys?

1# Shinsekai Yori
Simply it's rather perfect except the unnecessary gay kissing parts. The idea of the story, development and the meaning behind the show is completely wonderful. The show was able to make it a masterpiece even with limited budget and was wonderfully convey such an adventure

1. Umineko no Naku Koro ni (the visual novel, not the anime)
Everything about this series is just fantastic. Something I personally enjoyed is how Ryukishi will start out a character as a protagonist or antagonist, and completely flip their roles later in the story.

2. Date A Live
Just a personal favorite of mine.

3. Higurashi no Naku Koro ni
Simply brilliant. Ryukishi does a great job at writing mysteries :P

#1 Neon Genesis Evangelion series & movies; it's so psychological and it mindfucks your mind, a lot of people don't understand what the last 2 episodes mean and they hate it but I personally love the last 2 episodes because I understand what they are talking about. Plus this anime shows me how much mecha is cool back in the 90's

#2 Guilty Crown; this was the first anime that I saw that I couldn't keep my eyes away from the screen because of how beautiful the art was and the CGI, I loved the soundtrack and the entire anime.

#3 High school DxD; Rias-senpai....just Rias-senpai, how do you not love her? 1st harem, ecchi, demon anime that got me hooked onto the ecchi genre. It made me like fan service and it also has amazing CGI and art

1. Monster Musume: I can't explain why but it gives me vibes of the day I fell in love with anime watching Rosario Vampire. Besides Rachnera could fill me with venom and suck out my slushified organs while Miia slowly digests my suffocated body any day.

2. Zero no Tsukaima: Ecchi, Magic, Military weapons, badass Protagonist, explosions. What else is there to say? This was my first real non-ecchi harem anime (Although it is those things) and really is one of the best I've seen so far. It has such a wide array of genres and covers all of them pretty nicely without leaving anything too bare. Also the badass protagonist was an awesome upgrade from the pathetic Tskune Aono and annoyingly perverted Tomoki Sakurai from the 2 prievious animes I'd seen.

3. School Days: More like "Nice Boat".

manga:
1. Kuroshitsuji (I just love the characters and the story, complete different level from the first two seasons of the anime)
2. Death Note (I still hate the second part of the manga/anime, but it is still amazing.)
3. Sugar Sugar Rune (this was my first manga so it has a place in my heart)

anime/anime movies:
1. Code Geass (the movies not so much, but hangyaku no lelouch was amazing, and also one of my first ones)
2. FullMetal Alchemist/FullMetal Alchemist: Brotherhood (they were both amazing, i prefer brotherhood a little bit, but i like how they gave a little bit more emotion to the first version)
3. it has to be a tie between the durarara series, ao no exorcist (movie included) and the Magi series (they are all amazing, i can't chose only one)

~Top Three Anime
1: Kuroshitsuji/Black Butler (I actually love season two for some reason even though the ending was ehh)
2: Haikyuu!! (A good sports anime which is actually more detailed on actual sports and teamwork rather than personal stuff)
3: Osomatsu-san (This anime actually made me laugh which is really hard to do, plus I'm in love with all of the sextuplets ♥♥)

~Top Three Manga:
1: Owari no Seraph (It's better than the anime and shows more backstory behind the characters)
2: A tie between Junjou Romantica and Sekaiichi Hatsukoi (The story is good man, I like it more than just the yaoi)
3: Technically Kuroshitsuji again since I love that dang franchise

~Movie
1: PONYO IS THE ONLY MOVIE I REALLY LIKE

1.fooly cooly a.k.a flcl...I personally really liked this series and how it focuses on the main charachter (naota) wanting to grow up and matures along the way with haruko haruhara by his side
2.paranoia agent-I loved the concept of maromi and shonen bat.The media is already talking rumors and stuff about shonen bat while every victim of shonen bat has been through something also it's very hard to understand at first but the ending ties it all up but that can be confusing as well to some ppl
3.i don't really have a 3 but I will list animes that I find to be number 3 worthy for me personally
1.bungou stray dogs,dragon ball z,elfen lied,highschool of the dead,boku no pico(jk),kill la kill,no game no life,one punch man,pokemon,durarara,danganronpa,and the devil is a part-timer ( maybe himouto umaru chan) (≧∇≦)

Anime:

Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad, I relate to Koyuki alot and the music in this series is fantastic.
Cowboy Bebop, it's timeless and yet futuristic at the same moment, I love the universe they created.
Gundam 0083 - Stardust Memory, my absolute favorite Gundam series of all time.

Manga:

Gunsmith Cats, I loved the attention to detail Sonoda puts into guns and vehicles, I'm cool with some skin now and then.
Black Lagoon, love the action and the characters, Lagoon and Cats are probably tied for my favs.
ANY Tsutomu Nihei, I enjoy his art style and I'm not usually into horror as a whole.

Films:

Appleseed, mostly the CG films, I love the action and the art styles used.
Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind, favorite Ghibli film, classic.
Bebop the Movie, it was everything I liked about the show condensed into a film with slightly crisper visuals.

My top 3 anime series-
1) Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion
2) Death Note
3) Hunter x Hunter

So by the first two anime you can tell my personal genre. I like physiological thrillers and suspense the most. Big Brain moves and outstanding plot-twists is the biggest reasons I love code geass & death note.
As for the third anime, HxH, its my favorite shonen. Its an amazing adventurous ride with ever character getting its time to show their potential. With the likes of characters like Kurapika, Killua, Chorollo and Hisoka sometimes we forget that gon is the protagonist. Overall, its some good sh-t.
(also I dont know why I kinda dont like any other animes except shonen/seinens so its all mainstream)
