Is this show somewhat like Monogatari?

If so, I think I wouldn't enjoy it that much since I've failed to understand what monogatari series wanted it's audience to be fond of but anyway is this more to supernatural or drama? Is the story more like Fruits Basket or Monogatari? lmk your feedbacks and thoughts.

March comes in like a lion has no supernatural elements. It is one half character drama and one half wholesome slice of life. The main draws of this show are it’s character writing, emotional parts (especially its second season), heavy themes, and the relaxing vibes of a slice of life. It is not ver similar to Monogatari and I have not seen fruits basket.

3-gatsu no Lion is a Sports Character Drama (incredibly well written btw), but the Monogatari Series is a bizarre supernatural mystery, they basically have no connection, EXCEPT, the Chief Director (Akiyuki Shinbou) is the same guy (what a coincidence).

So the camera movements and character close-ups may feel similar, but other than that, they basically have no connection. So I can't say they're similar.

Both are adapted by the same studio (shaft), but the authors are different.

And you might notice some reused frames, like the head turning from a back shot and etc, and a kind of similar animation style.

But overall they're both great animes.

It would be more like FruBa, but still, not that much. If you’ve watched any other sports, drama, SoL anime like Welcome to the Ballroom, it’s like that.

It focuses on Shogi, which is basically Japanese chess. But when it’s not focusing on that sport, it deals with other SoL/Drama types of things.

But it seems like it’s completely different from both Mono and FruBa.

It’s extremely enjoyable and it’s one of the most somber anime out there. All of the characters are just well thought out.

The right mindset when watching an anime is hoping that it will break your top 10

I wouldn’t say so. It has a similar focus on human emotions on human emotions/behaviour, but with a SIGNIFICANTLY more grounded approach, and a much more somber feel.

Same studio but completely different from Monogatari series in term of story and visual.
No ecchi things at all, no fantasy. Just drama but heartwarming.
I took a peep on your anime history (sorry) and noticed that you enjoy Fruits Basket, Kono Oto Tomare, Violet Evergarden. So I think you might enjoy 3-gatsu no Lion (especially season 2!!).
Btw, I also enjoy those anime and don't quite like Monogatari series.
