Our fourth book club is here and I'm super excited to read this with everyone. I genuinely hope you will pick it up if you haven't already. This one is really special for it's positive portrayal of a strong female lead with a disability. I think it's very easy to focus on a disability "as the person" even in terms of our language. Ie: deaf person, or autistic person, but these disabilities don't define people. People are so much more than their disabilities and I absolutely loved seeing a strong portrayal of Kanon. We should be focusing on what people can do instead of what they can't. I'll get off my soap box here and just say that it is an incredible manga-one of my all-time favorites. That cliffhanger in volume 5 though. I should see if there are scanlations for volume 6.

@CureSolo, scanlations don't even cover volume 5. I suspect that's because they know it's licensed, so they just let it go. After all, it's only fair to pay for your manga, and most people who scanlate yuri are very conscious of that, thankfully.

So... It's kind of awkward. You know that they had this long-running theme with the rendition of Ebony and Ivory. As a piano player myself, I was wondering what it might sound like, and I made a piano arrangement out of it. So, even though it's not perfect, if you're interested, you may check it out.

The group stopped working on it after volume 4. In niche manga scenes, it's pretty common to drop a series the moment it gets an English license. This is honestly the best approach, because there are so many works that have been dropped or never picked up that need some love.
For instance Anemone wa Netsu wo Obiru have just been picked up by Yen Press a few days ago. So unless a different group picks it up, chapter 44 will be the last chapter in english for a long time.

This is definitely a good manga that I highly recommend. It focuses on her disability very well, especially compared to A Silent Voice, which was more about the main character's redemption.

The cliffhanger at the end of Volume 5 was amazing. Unfortunately, both my mind and body were weak, and I ended up getting the raws. I just couldn't wait for months.

@Ahopiyo-_- Seriously, I'm on edge. The cliffhanger was such a big deal.

I kind of expect a long reveal of the heroine's past now, which had been hinted at over the volumes. As far as the story has gone so far, it felt very relatable.

But I would also like to point out this stuff: the beautiful interplay between the hearing disability and hiding your sexual orientation. This thing is clearly shown as a different iteration of something fundamentally similar. I don't know if anyone sees that, too, though
