I really enjoyed this one, so i was thinking to watch the original anime. But i heard it had quite a bit of filler episodes and skipped content. Should i read the manga or watch the original anime?

I tried reading the manga but… let’s just say it didn’t have the censorship that was in the anime remake. I didn’t try the anime but from what I heard from my friends it’s pretty bad
Makes me really sad because I just finished the show and loved it

The second season was announced so another option is waiting for the 2024 remake and just hoping that finishes fast.

Use a filler guide and watch the show. The canon episodes are so hilarious. The filler is actually worse than Naruto filler which is pretty bad, like seriously, please skip the filler episodes

If you really liked this one you'll enjoy the original show. Some of the filler's a little boring but it's bearable - all the manga content's good and there are some good filler episodes too. Could just follow a filler guide if you really don't want to see any.

I'd probably read the manga after if you want more after the original show

(Not really sure what the other person's talking about tbh - the old anime and manga show nipples, i guess? If that's a dealbreaker)

@Bolona07 How the heck old are you? If it was about the same as the OG Series that wasn't too bad at all. I swear Gen Z people have forgotten what makes being human even worth it. You all are so pathetic. No, not all, but most of you seem like asexual borg drones.

my sis was watching the original anime and it never got finished so she had to switch to the manga anyway. also the remake is much more accurate to the manga than the first anime was (some of it was literally so dumb like in the ice skating ep they ended up outside literally skating on concrete??? ig its funny but like waaaaat????). either way my sis is enjoying the manga more than the og anime so thats what id recommend lol

The old show is A LOT better than this remake. Is funnier and has way better music. Don't worry about the story, is a gag series, the manga end is just like a kids show, "everything goes back to normal".

The old show is great, at least for the first half I watched. (I watched it as a kid and only half of it got dubbed.) Some of the added scenes and filler episodes are very funny and memorable. Just compare Ryogas introduction episodes from the old and new one. The new one is closer to the manga, but the old one added to it and made it better in my opinion. When the filler episodes get too much, skip them.

That's a good thing though, and you make it sound like a bad thing. If anything, the bad thing is that the remake is censored, assuming it's censored forever. It's supposed to be an ecchi. It's annoying how so many ecchi haters are even watching this show when it has the ecchi tag and complaining about the fanservice that they were able to still leave in. And the remake should have an uncensored version when it comes to blu ray.

Dont skip the the filler. Its super enjoyable. The original is far better. Uncensored as it should too. This remake like the urusei yatsura remake and bastard remakes are jokes. Always original
