Dude, I completely underestimated the final sequence from last episode. You're telling me Yachiyo was actually stranded for decades on space? That was wild, I was expecting it to be a gag.

But no, not only was it actually real and everyone grew up, but the hotel changed with it. Many more extraterrestrial guests and Ponko is the new acting acting acting manager looking like a proper adult and even seeing someone. The new Yachiyo is much more emotionally driven, with new Lego hands, tank controls and still insisting on shampoo hats. Her rebellious phase after not being able to provide service was also unexpected. For moment I wasn't even sure it was her or one of the other racoons on a tank for some reasons. And that fight with Ponko was not only touching but full of the actions expected from Cygames money.

Easily the best episode so far.

Lots of symbolism in this episode. Getting old, wheelchair bound, getting left behind as time advances without you. Becoming grumpy in your old age about not being able to do what you could before.

ONE OF THE BEST EPS EVER TO ONE OF THE BEST SHOWS EVER!!!! I CAN'T BELIEVE YACHIYO WENT GULL YANKEE AND EVEN STARTED INDIRECTLY ATTACKING THE SERVICE BOTS IN HER BLIND RAGE!!! Incredible stuff, glad Ponko brought her back to her senses. I do feel for Yachiyo, but ultimately Ponko did the best she could for Yachiyo's eventual return, in the same way Yachiyo would for humans.

This was crazy! Didn't expect to see grown up Ponko; or a half-tank Yachiyo; or a hal-tank Yachiyo becoming a rebel; or a mech fight Yachio vs Ponko!

The previous episode was by far my least favorite so far... but it was a build-up to the next one. These unexpected heights of absurdity and unpredictability are why anime originals are worth extra attention.

The way we only saw Mr. Babeh in a single staid distant shot makes me think his systems are winding down. That might be the next episode's topic.

This anime really is peak. Each episode is better than the previous one. This one was especially good; it was funny, emotional, and the animation was top tier. It's really my favorite of the season.

I feel like ponko aged up her human design to take over as the manager, because they spent decades and decades if not century and her appearance stayed the same, but she had a glow up in only 20 years?

Yachiyo returns, unfortunately broken and crippled down to a cartoon robot tank.

the time skips are merciless. Ponko will marry soon...

I guess I have never seen a disabled humanoid robot, it was funny at first to see the mini tank as lower half.
All the obastacles for Yachiyo were hitting a bit too hard afterwards, especially when she wanted to write and could not hold the pen.
The fight was crazy and especially well made out of nowhere, but earlier fights also looked good.

This episode somehow makes me sad, as with the passage of time, the past will never come back, and the way things once were becomes only a memory. Just last episode, everything on Earth felt so different, and now the buildings look old, and the robots show visible scratches and cracks.

My cute little Ponko is no longer tiny and has become a beautiful young lady who has found a man for herself. Despite how badly damaged Yachiyo was, Ponko installed new parts that could fit her, even if they weren't exactly the right ones, and it was surprising to see Yachiyo being a lot more expressive this episode.

That fight was well done, much like the previous one, but it carried a more dramatic tone, which worked in its own way. And as Ponko told us, her grandma Mujina has been sick for a while now, so we might soon hear some sad news.

The episode was really well done, but after how this one played out, I fear the season's ending could be rather emotional. Having grown so attached to the show, I don't want it to end on a heartbreaking note, like Yachiyo finally stopping for good or something similar.

I think that's the whole point of the show. Eventually all robots will break down but the hotel will still be there.

More ridiculous, random timeskips for no reason, coupled with an explicit date that simply can't be correct given how many timeskips we've had so far (with how much time has been skipped, it has to be at least 2500, long past 2345 at the very least). Rather than time-skipping again, I'd have much rather have more time with Yachiyo in space rather than just bringing her straight back to earth to jump into an absurdly well-animated fight scene. A very stupid fight scene that kind of relies on going against everything Yachiyo has been up to this point, but good animation is good animation so whatever.

I just can't seem to quite come to terms with the fact that this show is choosing to go in a direction very different to the one I was hoping for from the fantastic first few episodes. It's not a bad direction in and of it itself, but to me just nowhere near as good as what it could have been.

I cant get a grasp of timelines in this show but I will just try not to focus on that. Yachio was up there a long time alone though due to interference I am not sure she experienced the full time or was non operational a lot of it. Ponko is still cute. I feel for Yachio feeling useless and replaced.

Regardless of personal feelings, this show is a breath of fresh air
Original, comedic, a great mixture of drama and absurdity
Doesn't really make sense, but that's the beauty of the show
This is one of those insane, over the top 90s anime in a 2020 salsa...and it's working pretty well

An emotional Yachio means she'll start being irrational. Not the kind of character development I was hoping for.
"Manga readers are annoying, all they do is complain or spoil the anime we discuss in an anime forum.
They should really do their whining at manga forums.

What a brilliant episode! Every turn was unexpected, but, somehow, it was coherent and all made perfect sense together.

I enjoyed the action tremendously. The animation was lavish, and the directing inspired. The writing was somewhat bittersweet, with the theme of the passage of time and feeling like life has passed you by.

Yachiyo's rebellious phase is one for the ages, that's for sure! xD

I was certain, at some point, that the preposterous events of this episode were all Yachiyo's "dying hallucinations" - either while in LEO orbit around the Earth or, more likely, in that malfunctioned robot scrap dump, which Yachiyo also finally joined. In other words, should the latter have been the case, everything we've seen since the first vegetable-like alien showed up was all dreamed up by Yachiyo as she was "dying". That would have made far more sense than the events of this show.

And yet everything that happened, everything we've seen, the multitude of alien guests who all look like they were drawn by someone high on long expired acid, the nigh immortal Tanuki aliens who take 2 - 3 centuries to reach adolescence, their equally immortal solar cells which provide them with power after 3 - 4 centuries, their endless supply of rocket fuel and structural materials required to launch three stage missiles to LEO orbit, and the expertise to build them, among many many others... we are all supposed to take all that at face value?

Btw, how can the Hotel host all those alien guests when it is armed to the teeth with air-to-space missiles and Ponko launches missiles first and asks questions later? I still hold some hopes the entire story was dreamed up by Yachiyo in her final moments. That's because it has the "logic" and structure of a dream: anything and everything goes, whether it makes sense or not, as long as we can imagine it. No self-consistency is required, and common sense does not even enter the picture.

I really love the episode

I like the change I like Yachio and how she became Yankee. And how they fought and talked like any action anime. I like that later they didn't turn her body back. She just lived with it.

Ponko: Yachiyo I'm sorry that I couldn't rebuild your arms and legs. I had to use all the good parts on this sick as fuck giant Mech suit that you will destroy once you have a breakdown from not being able to perform your duties. I hope you understand.

Such a good episode!!! Got me in my feels. Also how Yachiyo became disabled and radicalized bc the ways that the spaces around her weren’t built to include her gets me in the feels. Especially the part with the steps and her lil tank body couldn’t fit through and there weren’t any accommodations for the pens and any work for her to do 🥺. This episode makes me think a lot, and what a hidden gem this anime is!

This was a strange episode. At first, I thought it was all just a dream. A lot of things still haven’t been explained, like why no one tried to rescue Yachiyo when they already had a spaceship, or what happened to the rest of the family. They only mentioned the grandma. And how did Ponko even get a boyfriend? Like… what? I really hope we get some answers in the next episode.

With Yachiyo gone and stranded in space, Pinko assumes as the after-acting manager of Hotel Gingarou, grown to a dignified young lady and taking care of the hotel in her stead, though the hotel has transformed to quite the specification of hers, and almost blasting Yachiyo into bits and pieces when she descended down back to Earth. And it's interesting of how Owner wants his hotel to be filled with the spirit of heartfelt hospitality through the robots that have been given their own spirit, though the world back then was inching closer to humanity's extermination as Yachiyo witnessed herself of the humans' rise and downfall.

The timeskip of 50 years since the solar flare, and Yachiyo having her lower body be replaced with a tank due to the unavailability of spare parts, though Hotel Gingarou is more vibrant and filling with guests throughout...though her practices have been phased out in favour of the things that guests would appreciate better, Still, it's funny to see how desperate Yachiyo wants to get back to working, though Ponko has to take care of her ailing Grandma Mujina, and creates quite the ruckus with her tank body by firing missiles willy-nilly, something that Ponko doesn't appreciate of Yachiyo turning into quite the delinquent that disproves of how the hotel is run anew without her.

Still, this is quite the emotional reunion between sisters, and Yachiyo gets to retain her former position, while working together with Ponko to create new things to keep the hotel's tradition alive.

Still can't keep away from the shampoo hats eh, Yachiyo?

I am officially hate-watching this show. You had one job. You couldn't even build another rocket to go after Yachiyo. You left her in space for who knows how long. We skipped over everything that could have been emotionally impactful. You can build all these missiles and defense systems (and fire them for no reason), all these buildings, but you still can't fix any of the freaking robots!? You literally scrapped some of them for parts to make a giant robot, but you can't take off another stewardess' arms and legs?

Why in the world is a tank the only option? How is she firing so many missiles? How did she make it into a motorcycle?

Exactly how long has it been? In hundreds of years, the Tanuki didn't grow at all. Then she was a little taller at the beginning of the episode when Yachiyo crash-landed. 50 years later she is a full adult. Who is the male Tanuki? Is that her little brother? They clearly referenced war destroying and wiping out their planet. But then they also had her need a spare battery and later said she can recharge directly from the sun.

Exactly how else would Ponko expect Yachiyo to react in this situation? Does she have a heart and soul or not?

We will never get any answers to these questions. The characters magically know exactly everything they need to know, and nothing they don't. They change inorganically as the show requires them. The thematic throughlines keep changing. The only one really intact is, "changing with the times." The other characters are barely background ornaments at this point. This writing is absolutely abysmal. This is spectacle and nothing else. Turn your brain completely off and watch while you browse your phone. Think for 5 seconds and nothing makes a lick of sense.

P.S. Yachiyo automatically used her new abilities every time before. Why didn't she immediately self-destruct?

Yachiyo is back and in the form of a rebel tank... Lol That's unexpected news!
Decades here pass like mere days.
It's good that the hotel has survived and remained in good condition.
But I think changing so much was a bad idea.
Anyway. I didn't expect Yachiyo to be so intolerant of change.
And that battle, besides being absurd, was also good!
