| An unknown cupid is working on this, since Touma got charmed. Except, they seem to try to get Touma to turn a blind eye to Hasumi's bullying...? We know Ena doesn't care about Hasumi, nor does she care about Kitano; this cupid must have been a pain. Maybe this is why Ena was so on edge. In any case, this cupid seems to be bad news. That aside, Ena seems to be really good with weaponry. She knows how to set up a Claymore mine, and she's interested in building prototype mortars, even being able to figure out launch angles given a distance. This makes me think that she worked with weapons in her human life as part of a war. I doubt she was a soldier, since she's female and probably wouldn't get drafted. Overall, I'm inclined to think that she was an engineer during the Cold War. Edit after reading Chapter 13 Part 2 on 2025/8/23: Whatever I was expecting, it was not this. I am so confused right now: Ena is or was Hasumi, even though she acts really experienced for a cupid and Hasumi was seen alive a few months ago. Not to mention how their personalities don't match up at all; Ena is very no-nonsense, while Hasumi is said to be very sensitive and artsy. Furthermore, reincarnation should have taken a few years at least. Finally, Touma says that Hasumi's injuries weren't serious. My theory is that Ena prefers to act extremely methodically, going so far as to disguising herself as Hasumi to try to know more about everyone related to her missions. She mentions that she has worked on Kitano-san's class for a long time, and has definitely been in the school for a while. My second theory is that Ena is the family name, while Hasumi is the first name. In this case, Hasumi is likely to be a sibling of Ena's; maybe that's why Ena cares so much about this mission and will angrily engage Chiyo in battle. However, This doesn't match up with the cupid name of Koharu, which erases Sakurada Koharu's family name (Sakurada) instead of her first name (Koharu), but I digress. |
