I plan to only watch the anime, but i know the manga has far better art, so i would like to get a few volumes of it, based on art only, which volume has the best art? (Contents, not cover)

Manga's way different than anime, you won't understand a thing if you don't read it at least from chapter 74

Ohh i didnt know, but tbh im not that interested in reading it, i mostly want to buy it because of the art, so only one volume with good art is enough for me haha

All of them have really good art. Honestly, you are best off reading the manga digitally and then picking your favorite volume from there. You can even read it legally with a Shonen Jump subscription. You will get to experience the real story and see the art in context.

If you really insist, then I'd consider volume 1, 7, 11, or 14.

I have all the volumes of Tokyo Ghoul and for me, the volumes with the best art are volumes 13 and 14, they have many panels with grooves and very beautiful lines, this was without a doubt the pinnacle of Sui Ishida.

I love both the cover art and the black and white of the pages.

By the way, these are the last two volumes of this first part, since there is Tokyo Ghoul:re

I sincerely recommend you buy them all volumes and just watch the first two seasons of the anime, forget about that adaptation of Tokyo Ghoul:re

The person above also has a good opinion

If you truly are only interested in the art, there is a separate illustrations book released called Tokyo Ghoul Zakki with new art that's not seen in the manga. Aside from that, volumes 7 and 14 have great art. Also, don't watch the anime. It diverges from the storyline of the manga and was very negatively recieved. But the music and ost's are amazing.

:re artstyle was EPIC I can at least appreciate that the intro/outro of the later anime seasons highlighted to uniqueness of Tokyo Ghoul art but the anime could never compare to how immersive the Manga is, specifically how the art/inking tells its own story towards the end 🥹❤️❤️

fr i saw this artbook/compilation of ishidas concept/art and I want it SO bad 😭😭😭 its expensive af here but every single page is a beauty 🥹 i own the demon slayer concept art book but just looking at the Tokyo Ghoul one brings a completely different vibe than I've seen in most anime concept illustrations, so hopefully I save enough money to treat myself to this gem ^^^
