| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Well, hopefully the sister gains more friends from now on. After seeing several CLAMP series, I notice quite a few tropes and character types. Misaki sounds so similar to Sakura from CCS (I should probably check to see if it's the same voice actor). Freakin' CLAMP, I don't enjoy their series as much anymore. After MKR and CCS, most everything else just isn't as good because I keep seeing so much repetition. I do prefer Angelic Layer to Chobits though. I like the idea of fighting dolls. I'd probably get into it if it existed. |
| Maria's story is so underdeveloped it was laughable. Misaki spouts some platitudes and suddenly her whole outlook on life changes. A really bad episode. |
| Two people both in need of re/discovering the fun in the game they play, both of whom manage to somehow find it at the same time. And they didn't show who the other two qualifiers were, so I guess we will never get to understand how the tournament actually works. Anyway, both Misaki and Hatoko qualified. Obviously. |

| Misaki really started to psyche herself out there. But nice to see her get her balance back and in the process helped Maria remember her love for Angelic Layer and open her to the possibility of friends. |

| Maria's story was cute, Misaki recovered her self-confidence, and the mysterious woman now shows her face, oh this anime is almost 20 years old but for me is new and at the same time it feels so nostalgic!!! ahhh and with every episode I'm more and more in love!!! ahhh!!! |
