"Sir, about Buccaneer... they say he died smiling." ;-;

Another good episode, and damn, slicing Hawkeye's throat. I really hope she doesn't die. I feel like when she looked up that was some code and they hatched a plan.

That damn preview... "And now, at last, the end begins."

Wow. I'm on my third watch of Brotherhood, and I finally noticed Dante in this episode! I think I had seen it before and thought it looked like her, but it never really registered. Lol. I thought it was just a coincidence or something. Haha! That's hilarious. I had previously noticed a couple of shots of the warehouses, especially warehouse B that looks like warehouse 13, just like in FMA 03, but I missed Dante. lol :D

Can someone tell me when did Hohenheim performed a Human Transmutation?

After the forced break not wanted by me, I'm back here. Although I do not remember much of the previous episodes, today's episode has involved me a lot and the narration, as far as I am concerned, has been compelling and without having useless moments. The dramatic scenes were well tuned and never exaggerated as timing. The final part of the episode is interesting.

And now the bodies begin to pile.
Ling/Greed was awesome. Rampaging the central forces finally. They need to get cut down.

Mustang doing it for his woman. True gentleman right there.

goddammit i absolutely love riza, i dont wanna see her die, but also dont want roy to do the human transmutation.
hohenheim is a sacrifice? has there ever been a point where he attempted human transmutation or is there a loophole into this?

Hohenheim did not attempt to perform Human Transmutation but he did take part in a Transmutation Circle that engulfed the whole Xerxes townspeople. Moreover he's able to perform alchemy without the need for Transmutation Circles. He's eligible as a sacrifice.

Bradley isn't dead, I knew it. And he's likely angrier than ever, this is going to be fun.

Riza's gravely injured. Quite frankly I didn't care much for her throughout the episodes but I still would prefer her to live.

Father's true form looks disgusting, lol.

So Mustang might be the 5th sacrifice? Interesting.

It turns out that Buccaneer didn't die immediately but he only lasted long enough to pass on the duty to Greed and Ling who in turn, started doing a splendid job fighting on the side of good.

The sacrifices are all under one roof but they're one person short. Rize got her neck sliced up by one of the former Fuhrer rejects and Roy was forced to perform human transmutation to become a human sacrifice and save the Lieutenant...

They have apparently defeated Bradley.

The human sacrifices were transported to Father's lair, and Mustang might be the next

Honestly random gold tooth guy and his failed bradley gang is just a tad too much here. Considering how easily Mustang dealt with Envy, he should be able to burn these guys to a crisp with one fireball. If the writer was running out of villains and juggling too many good guys at once then I wish they hadn't let Lust die so early.

The fight with Wrath continues and he's still a formidable foe even without his ultimate eye, sheesh!

After that's settled, as Buccaneer lays there dying, he asks Ling to do him the favour of defending the front gate. Ling agrees to do so, and he does exactly that! And sadly, it's time for Buccaneer to kick the bucket. And he too died with a smile (and salute) on his face. I cried when he died too. 😥

Ed, Al and Izumi are underground now in Father's lair after having been transported. Al won't wake up though! And Father is in the process of absorbing Hohenheim!

Roy, Scar and Riza continue to fight the leftover Wrath fellas. And holy shit on a shit sandwich! One of 'em slit Riza's throat! Gold Tooth Doctor wants Roy to open the portal. Will he do it? And awesome cliffhanger!

Oh yay, Mustang and co. can't win the fight that by all rights they should have in the bag because the plot wouldn't advance if they did. At the same time, wounded Bradley is just as effective at fighting Greedling as before his wound? It's just sad that something that has lots of good elements still slaughters its plot in this way.

Fuck that doctor for stabbing Hawkeye to force Mustang to be the 5th sacrifice. It was a great and evil cliffhanger of sorts, the end really is coming soon. Hope Al's soul is okay for now too inside that armor since he was unresponsive after being pulled in.

Captain Buccaneer also died a soldier's death there after the previous episode.

Bradley is the only competent antagonist in this anime. Everyone dies/is severally injured. Father is so generic to my eyes.

YOU SEE, I'M UNDER ORDERS NOT TO DIE

I like the reason why the Elric brothers and Izumi were chosen to be sacrifices: it's because they've opened the doorway before. I've always thought they were just alchemists chosen at random.

I like what they do for the title cards in the middle of each episode for our fallen soldiers, for this episode, being for Captain Buccaneer. They show him, but without the dude yelling "FULL METAL ALCHEMIST"; instead it's just silent, as if taking a moment of silence in respect.

I think all of us who first watched this were like "fuck" when Riza got slashed in the throat. Because people have been dying, there was no telling if they were going to take away even a significant side character too. Mustang just went through a grueling trial if holding himself back from letting his full rage be unleashed and killing envy and turning into a monster, one that would be unfit to the lead the country. And with the immense help of others, he overcame himself. But now, his resolve is being tested AGAIN. Become a sacrifice and bring the whole nation one step closer to its doom, or save the one who probably is closest to him? Because in the back of my mind at least, this would be a moment to prove that his character HAS grown in this short while.... meaning..... he would put his own desires aside and let Riza die. And because of that, I truly believed that Riza would die.

Does she die? She- oh sorry, those are spoilers for the next episode.

The first time we hear someone refer to Hawkeye as Roy's woman it's after she's been mortally wounded *cries*
Also, it feels a little odd to have such a seemingly important character only ever referred to as "Gold Toothed Doctor," even after his formal debut

God this series continues to be so epic. Buccaneer died in this episode at least he had some breath to say his final words before leaving us, Todd Haberkorn I will say was just acting his heart out when Greedling was desperately trying to find an Alchemist to heal Fu but to no avail. He was even a badass in this episode as he just took out the last remaining soldiers that Wrath had at his disposal. And it looks like Hohenheim lost his fight with father and now he’s been absorbed into Father and….in a very….weird position on his body as well. I’m just not gonna comment on it any further than I need to. OK? Anyways Riza and Mustang have gotten themselves captured nooooo! And man what a cliffhanger to end the episode on just the Gold Teethed Doctor threatening Riza’s life whilst Mustang looks on hopelessly.

The one niggle I have with this episode the preview really spoilt the fact that Wrath is still alive. I honest to god thought that he had died thanks to Greedling but nope the preview clearly shows King Bradley literally just alive and kicking fighting in that preview. And it was just anticlimactic, it just left me with: “Oh he’s still alive. But I thought he was dead. But he isn’t.” sort of thing when it came to that. Otherwise as I keep saying this was an awesome episode altogether.
