massive Sakiko and Nyamu L
hopefully they rot in hell after their lonely, sad deaths, because no one is gonna love these devil spawns and will live alone and loveless

that aside, anyone know who does the "previews"? (like the last few lines before the ED) i cant recognize the voice

This show is definitely my hidden gem of the season. Even though i don't think it's hidden all that much. It's filling the void of Girl band cry and giving the genre a completely different look with some fun edge to it! Also, all their music hits !

Never watched a BanG Dream season before. Mainly came to this because I liked Girls Band Cry last year and the music in Ave Mujica is to my liking. But hot damn, are these characters miserable! There is no hint of anything happy here, not even the band members feel like they are enjoying what they do. Sakiko plays because it is her last straw, Mutsumi to help Sakiko, Nyamu is a bitch and only wants fame. The other two I don't have a grasp on yet, but watching the bitching of Sakiko and Nyamu alone must suck all the joy out of performing.

That probably sounds a bit harsh, I'm enjoying the edgy drama. But I didn't expect it to be this heavy and joyless, is all. I actually love the gothic themed performances of the band with some proper RP in it, creating their own world. The music is really good and the directing is also really well done, as can be seen in particular in episode 3.

@Sylverthas you should watch MyGo first as it links heavily with Ave Mujica.

Too much drama. This isn't just as interesting as the original BanG Dream! imo.

Anyway, I feel so bad for Mutsumi. I hope the situation gets better as soon as possible.

MyGO was the start of "intense drama" in Bandori era tho

It all started with Nyamu's careless behavior in removing Mutsumi's mask while he continued to play in the band without his identity being recognized.

OH MY GOD! NYAMU IS SUCH A FUCKING BITCH! SOMEONE KICK HER OUT!

In the first place all of this was her fault. From going rogue by forcing everyone to remove their mask to forcing Mutsumi to do something she doesn't want to et al. She also made it clear this ep that she has zero interenst in the band and more on fame so kicking her out shouldn't be a big deal.
@ImmortalZero annoying characters besides Sakiko

@JJT1407 MyGo for my taste has a perfect balance of drama and fun.
Ave Mujica is too heavy, as some commented earlier no one is having fun there.

@RaidenSteiner
ofc, you dont, every word I said to you is just an understatement.
and if that understatement is edgy then I think you must feel like yourself being offense, right?

This is so far the best episode imo.

Maybe it's because I'm used to more melodramatic or darker anime (Oniisama e..., Madoka, Utena, Ayashi no Ceres), but I don't think the conflict here is that dramatic or dark. Family issues, grief, public breakdowns and miscommunication between friends/colleagues are pretty common points in character arcs in any teen drama. It's not that twisted.

Sakiko doesn't open up about her struggles to keep a perfect facade. She immerses herself in her work to deal with the pain she's feeling, or rather to avoid feeling it at all. She needs to be in control. Mutsumi wanted the guitar to be her own thing, something that allowend her to be her own person instead of her parents' extension. Nyamu, unknowingly, took this away from them when she tore off the mask from their faces. Sakiko is able to keep going and adapt, but Mutsumi isn't. She breaks under the pressure, a mistake in a single note makes her freeze and nobody is there to support her. The girls are either too preoccupied with their own issues (Saki) or confused because they don't know her that well (Nyamu, Uika, Umiri). Of course this is hard to process, specially since it happened on a live performance, but I don't think it's "too much drama" or dark at all in per se.

What makes it interesting is the stylistic choices to showcase her inner conflict. The dreamlike sequences with the dolls and plushies extend the band's performance symbols into the bigger narrative. The doll persona is no longer only a stunt to differenciate the band, but a representation of her actuall circumstances. She's feels treated like a tool, a vessel, a device, an accessory, not a daughter or a friend.

It's true that they haven't had a single moment of joy so far tho. I hope they get to share some good moments as a band.

So it looks like that Mutsumi blamed herself for Sakiko leaving there previous band.

Nyamu's selfishness continues to annoy me.

And it looks like Mutsumi's personaly has changed all in the ending.

This anime is a really interesting experience.

Ave Mujica is a strange band. I mean - relationships in this band are strange. There is always some kind of understatement and uncertainty. There is no cozy and nice atmosphere that is usually found in musical bands (even if there are conflicts). But all the relationships inside Ave Mujica are literally one endless conflict. Which in many ways fuels Nya-Nyamu.
I dont mind since its interesting, but in general it would be good for them to just sit and talk.

I also like how cool they make 3D now.
I remember that 3D animation was very strange and slow, but now it looks cool (although im still 2D animation fan).
But girls are cute and emotions are conveyed well.
