Episode 2 got leaked early today. Subs are out.

A lot of other characters are introduced including members from the Ichirin High School Club. But hey, the practice dancing part didn't have CGI. I do like how Wanda is supporting him Kabo when he needs it the most by saying to imagine her at the end there. "So when you dance in front of people, imagine it's just me."

He still has a lot of potential in this show.

“Dance like you’re just dancing in front of me” man literally the only thing holding this story back is the CGI. As a kpop stan this is like a dream come true because we getting to see the ins and outs of dance choreography and Kabo’s journey to become a full fledged dancer.

I love that he starts out with zero sense of rhythm and nervous as hell, the show does a good job of making you feel that silliness and embarrassment that Kabo feels at the start, thinking you look silly and then you just gradually get into it and stop caring what everyone thinks. Him presumably being good at freestyle dancing makes so much sense because free styling doesn’t require you follow any guidelines or routine, it’s just you being yourself expressing yourself in ways words never could. Kabo, as someone who struggles to speak his mind, can use that as a means of communicating!

It’s also just a really relatable story so far because most of the people watching this suck at dancing and would look just like Kabo, but I feel like it’s one of them things like drawing where everyone CAN be good at it. Most people just don’t have the patience/desire to invest time into getting better.

Wanda continues to have the deadliest face card.. she’s so otherworldly gorgeous. My boy Kabo almost accidentally pulled her there too when he asked her to “go out” with him lol. Uru music soundtrack slaps, it’s just the CGI looking so odd that’s holding it back for now, but the story is really interesting

I just watched episode two and honestly, it’s really endearing and worth giving a chance. People keep fussing non-stop about the CGI, but I think it’s really one of those things where you either can look past it or you can’t. There’s more to it than that though. This episode actually looked good in my opinion, and I feel like it’s only going to get better once the choreography starts leaning into more intricate and difficult movements.

Also, Wanda and Kabo’s dynamic is so cute. She’s playful and chill, and it really compliments his more reserved nature. I like that even though Kabo struggles with his speech, he’s not actually shy…he just has his own quiet kind of confidence in certain areas . It’s such a nice balance between them.
Opinions formed after the full story, not the first scene.

I love when dancing has to begin with mentally preparation first, and this episode did just that. I also love when Kaboku shirtlessly flex his muscle in front of a mirror at home.

Oh, and this might be the first anime (at least from my memory) that feature synesthesia effect, reminds me of previous season's Milky☆Subway that feature synchronization between music and animation.

So far so good, but it's gonna need more male dancers.

Wanda's "I wanna dance" face is the definition of pure lmao

Even with the CGI being ...how it is, the story and especially characters are gripping enough for it to not matter that much, or at least for now. Hope I don't eat my words when some emotional hype moment ends up looking too goofy to be taken seriously.

That was the exact opposite of what the male to female ratio that Kabo had in his mind before joining this dance club 😅❤️❤️

Dude's under immense pressure with all those girls surrounding him and being the only guy would totally make him stand out..Not to mention his stuttering problem. Yeah, the second year guy must not be coming to the club 'cause it's full of girls with not even a single guy around Lol.. Glad that Kabo has at least Wanda to rely on.

The club prez is such a cutie pie. She's really enjoying seeing Wanda and Kabo dancing and improving together. Kabo is growing at a great pace with just a little bit of advice.

Kabo really shocked Wanda by asking her out and then saying it was just to dance, haha
He got Wanda's hopes up for no reason. It felt like she would have said ok right away. And her encouraging him to dance infront of others by asking him to imagine that he's ony dancing infront of her was so adorable.

When it comes to sports, performing & visual arts shows, or basically any one that focuses on the protagonist's hobby, an important matter for me is to feel the “passion” that the protagonist feels towards it. What does it mean for them, the greater role for it in their life and the story, etc... Only when I feel it can I really bring myself to enjoy such shows, but so far I can't say I feel even a semblance of it in Wandance, and the stiff animation and ugly CGI don't really help it.

I know this is only the 2nd episode, but this is not promising for me.

@Stark700 CGI in itself isnt bad. It either it isnt just used very well or visual design in itself could be better... I love the manga so Im a bit sad about it but its still decent

The second episode was more interesting. They didn't overuse the CGI as much, and many of the animated scenes were very well done. I enjoy the story. The downside is when they add 3D, it loses intensity.

Ok I'm liking the way story is going and CG is not even bothering me much anymore, I've watched shows with this type of animations where mostly during dance scenes CG just comes in and tbh it doesn't bother me much now, my favorite part is wanda's voice and her sweet gimmicks

I am going to stick with this anime. The story is good and the 2D animation is good. To me it’s like avant-garde art: you have 2D animation on the level of season 2 of My Dress-Up Darling combined with 3D animation on the level of Ex-Arm will make this an interesting and challenging watch in a fun way. Now will I watch a season 2 rather than just going manga-only after this season is done is another question.

so yes, there is CGI , but the music, dialogues are well done for and it's not awful when they are dancing for me...
Having a great time when I watch anime or read manga is the most important thing for me...

Huh? What happend? Some parts from the Manga got just cut out? Where was the Switch from Up and down to Down and Up? That was a main part why On has high hopes for Kabo. All the Newbies besides him and Wanda where failing there.... And what was with the crab dance? Chapter two was so hard cutet. And even Wandas sentences in the end where 50% cutet.

And for the Up and Down Moves - they got totally downgraded from what they did there in the Manga.

And ye, the CGI was bad again, but ive seen worse, thats not the main problem here. We are in episode two and are already cutting stuff from the manga...Im so fucking sad. The Manga is so damn awesome.

Read the Manga. The level of detail between Manga and Anime just in the moves they do is extreme. And you miss a lot of Story cause it gets trashed for what ever reason.

PS: You get even the hint that they cut stuff out because the flashback when Kabo is telling what On said to them is a completely missing scene in that episode. We didnt saw why she told that. It was because they switched from Up and down to down and up... aaah men. I dont want to drop that Anime.

Please dont fuck this so hard up...

I don't know, 3D can be worse, and the main problem here is probably the facial expressions, when 2D is replaced with them, it's really noticeable, but overall the episode is good and Wanda is just lovely.

This show takes a down to earth dance form for normies and elevates it to ethereal levels with great animation and direction. Are you all blind complaining endlessly about what look to me to be artistic choices. It’s excellent, open your eyes! Or just leave, I’m fine with that too.

Kaboku is more of technical dancer if he does become one so FREESTYLING is probably not his way to be honest. Dancing is a freedom of expression and he thinks way too much.

This episode for me at least solidified that this show has potential. The story is strong enough that it reminds me a bit of Bocchi the rock but less social anxiety. If we get less 3D CG I think it could be savable but I doubt that'll happen so I see a solid 5/10 rating in the future, maybe even 6/10 since its only in the dance scenes(so far).

I kinda like Kabo's inner thoughts during the club scenes--they remind me of when I started breaking years ago. The whole process was awkward yet rewarding!

But also... this CG is awful. This whole show looks really, really ugly. I'll give it another episode, but if I'm not sold by then, I'll probably stop.

It’s wild how Wanda can have some of the cutest designs and expressions one moment, and some of the absolute worst the next. Like seriously, those faces she was making in the second half were adorable...

...and then I get jumpscared by that horrifying CGI dance at the end, sigh. Still, I’m really liking our main duo so far, so I guess I can power through for now.

They are doing the most to show the least amount of dancing/movement animation as possible, really blatant in that last bit where Wanda was dancing.
Tribe Cool Crew, an actual children's dancing anime from a decade ago CLEARS this series pretty much in every single aspect.

It's nice to see Kabo slowly start improving and both Wanda and the president of the dance club have noticed. What almost threw me off, and Wanda for that matter, was when he asked her out... to dance practice. Maybe when he gets better they will start going out for reals.

Another great episode is it just me or did it kinda blend some 2d to the cgi to make it look better cuz i think the cgi is a bit better than the last episode

Wanda's dance cgi is still a bit bad, the face has no expression and the hair is messy but that aside i think the dance is really fluid

Episode 2 was great! The CG is still not that great but the story and relationship between Kabo and Wanda make up for it. The premise is incredibly endearing and in this episode we get to see more of Wanda’s personality other than quiet girl who likes to dance. We can see that even if she isn’t great at expressing herself she is actually kind of outspoken as well, which is cute.

I will say the CG for Kabo needs to improve ASAP if his choreography is going to get any more intricate. His CG model isn’t on par with Wanda’s not that Wanda’s is much better.

Overall I think it is a shame the show is facing as much criticism for CG as it is because the actual story and characters and 2D animation have all been great so far

Ichirin High's dance club, where females outweigh males 93 to 5, with Kabo just following the vibe with the other 1st years seeing their 3rd year Senpais practice dance moves under the leadership of club president On Miyao. And while Kabo is just getting his training started, albeit with the same stiffness that he always has, seeing Wanda and the others being already proficient in their moves, he can't help but feel like he's the odd one out. Still, he puts in the effort to do better both physically and mentally, and asking Wanda is the only way possible to get better at the dance craft, though the slip of the tongue to ask her out, almost threw her for a loop.

Still, as the only guy in the sea of girls, Kabo feels the intimidation, but while his stuttering speech has aways to go, Uru's hip-hop music gets him going, and On can fel the vibe between him and Wanda alright. And as soon as the announcement for the team contest comes around, doing freestyle is for sure, a pressure he's never felt before for tryouts. And yes, the odd-looking 3DCG still retains its flavour in the midst of Kabo trying to make his own identity around dance.

For now, having someone as a mentor, Wanda can absolutely be Kabo's "mirror" of inspiration.

this episode felt really nice to watch. i liked how it focused on kabo trying to find his rhythm, both in dance and with the people around him. using his basketball skills to understand movement was a really clever idea and made his progress feel natural. wanda keeps being this calm, supportive person who helps him feel more confident, and their connection feels really sweet.

the cg still looks a bit weird, especially during wanda’s solo, but i’m getting used to it. the 2d parts feel more alive, especially when it’s just kabo and wanda practicing or talking. those simple moments are what make the show special. i really liked how this episode showed dance as a way to express feelings without words. when kabo asked wanda to practice with him, it felt like his way of saying he trusts her. even though the animation isn’t perfect, the story still feels warm and full of heart.
