I like animes, specifically well-done sci-fi or fantasy stories. I rate animes on my list based on how enjoyable they are, and how rewatchable they are. My major points of focus are; 1) How likeable are the characters -are they consistent with how they are introduced, do they have to grow or struggle through the story, do they have their own unique personalities from other characters in the story, and if they're OP as F, does it still make for a good story?-. 2) How deep is the plot? Is it too complex to make sense of? Is it enjoyable? Does it think it's much more clever than it actually is? Does it flow smoothly forward with a satisfying ending or seasonal conclusion? 3) Do the things I care less for overtake the story to such a degree that it suffers? Fanservice is the biggest one. I don't need lewdness in my story animes, but it can be tastefully or usefully done without derailing the plot too much and wasting time. Shounens, I'm looling at you.
Fanservice is like seasoning in opinion. Too much is a bad thing (Unless it's the actual point of the anime). Overpowering/derailing the good points of an anime is a bad thing. Some of my more favored animes could be much higher scores or even perfect if the fanservice didn't stop the flow of the events, such as the stereotypical "falls into her cleavage" cliche or the "overly lewd old guy character" cliche, which 9 times out of 10 are both dragged out well beyond being funny or useful, like Taika Waititi's screaming goats.
Some terms I'll use in my reviews:
"Suddenly Shounen" - This is a character that shows up in a story that is typically grounded in more mature storytelling methods, with straightforward and mature plot structure, only for the character in question to be obnoxious, possess stupefyingly ridiculous levels of power that violate all of the established world building rules up to that point, and are allowed to escape 99% of the time for no other reason than the MC lets them go after defeating them because of course we let murderers and rapists go so that the story can go on. They are characters with plot armor and plot-dependent powers that make them strong one minute, and then weak to the MC a few moments later. They often say lines like "This isn't even my final form!" "I haven't even gotten serious yet." "You cannot possibly hope to defeat me." "That's impossible! Those are [Supposedly super-badass enemies that are already defeated] you know!?" "How can this be!? No one should be able to [Insert literally anything here]!" Basically, Suddenly Shounen characters are the absolute epitome of garbage writing. Examples include virtually every humanoid antagonist in Re;Zero, Eri in Arifureta, pretty literally any character named 'Joker' that isn't in a Batman story, Mushroom head in Kaijuu No. 8, and many, MANY more. Notice, I left out animes like One Piece and Naruto, which are the epitomes of shounens from the beginning, so the presence of shounen villains is to be expected, even if they still require trash writing to work.
The Four Cardinal Cleavages (New): There are 4 cardinal cleavages that loser incel beta cuckboy MCs will inevitably interact with either by diving into them, groping, or laying across them for unbelievable, forced, and contrived reasons:
1: Breasts - Obvious and probably the most common. Breast cleavage dives are a staple of weebsterbating cuckboy-led animes like Danmachi, Kid from the Last Dungeon Boonies, and S-Ranked Catgirl blah-dee-blah thrive on. The worst part? You know all three of the animes I'm talking about. If you don't, I'm genuinely happy for you.
2: Thighs - Probably the second most common, and not often recognized for the cleavage that it is. Regardless, cuckboys will almost certainly jizz themselves over laying in a girl's thighs. Common examples are Re:Zero, Isekai Smartphone, and Danmachi. This garbage trope is usually emphasized by weebsterbating animes with the 'awakens to have their vision obstructed by huge boobs'.
3: Butt - Much less common, but still exists in the Shounen-sphere, because why wouldn't it? Alpha giga sigmach cuckchad manages to find his faceplant between those sweet lower cheeks. Known instances include Danmachi, and I'm sure there are others, but I generally drop animes with any of these tropes pretty quickly, so the rare ones are almost never seen by me, personally.
4: Lady-bits - This one is probably the rarest, simply because the implications are the most line-crossing by any metric if literal contact is made. But, they still exist. Its most common expression is when MC is face to face with panties from the front after a typical anime spill (spoken ridiculously nonsensical and unbelievable), and known includers of this trope are Danmachi and Fire Force.
The Four Cardinal Cleavages are staples of the shounen genre and pretty much define weebsterbating garbage, since they are cheap gimmicks meant to ensnare young viewers and separate horny middle-schoolers from their money.
Weebsterbating - Anime or manga meant to titillate the reader/viewer with cheap gimmicks and ecchi bait. Story takes a backseat to tropes like the Four Cardinal Cleavages, primarily, but also include zero-effort harems, OP powers that break their own story systems, middle-school bullies for antagonists with no depth or nuance.
