Oh yeah I remember the circle pad pro! I remember seeing reviews for it on a TV channel called G4 back in the day, they said it really was a necessary requirement for some games to be enjoyed fully. I still to this day need to play Kid Icarus uprising, yet another IP I wish Nintendo would bring back. Say by the way have you had a chance to play Donkey Kong Bonanza? I can't remember if you had mentioned if you had a Switch 2 or not.

You know what's funny? Ice Climbers are actually my mains in Super smash Brothers ever since melee. I could see where that would be a problem though, especially for players who would want to do a four-player ice climber brawl. Having eight characters on screen at once, not including any Pokemon or a cyst trophies, would probably blow up the 3DS. Hahaha!

Honestly I'm kind of glad to see aspartame getting the boot. I've never been a fan of the stuff myself, not just because I don't care for the way a lot of stuff tastes with it, but as you said for health reasons as well. Oh by the way have you heard that they are starting to make barista style alternative milks now? Has someone who works in the industry I'm sure you probably are aware of this. I never even knew it was a thing. Here's a video if you haven't heard of it, talks about other forms of milk as well. This seems like a video that would be up your alley:

Yes the Fatal Frame series has always been one of my favorites. And watching spooky old black and white movies as always a treat. I've always been a sucker for the classics. Are you into horror movies at all?

Wow I completely forgot about the extra analog stick they came with the new 3DS back then, makes sense though because I only accessed it with the original format. Do you recall if the 3DS version of mash got a lot of updates? 🤔

Sounds awesome! Yeah I recently just tasted stevia not that long ago, my boss ordered some in the kitchen for us to serve to the customers and I got to try it finally. I think I still like Splenda but stevia definitely does have its place depending on what you're drinking. I imagine now with Christmas on the way you guys are probably going to be serving a lot of peppermint flavored coffees? 😝

Set honey huh? No I don't believe I ever have, sounds like a really versatile and awesome sweetener though. I'll definitely have to check it out. I'm really shocked I never heard of it before. 😱

Halloween was pretty good, spent it with some friends and we ate Candy and watched horror movies. When I got home I even got a chance to play some spooky survival horror titles on my PS2. How was your Halloween?

Got to say you put together a pretty solid list of games. I only played the demo for the 3DS version of Super smash Brothers, I take it the controls weren't too much of a hindrance? Maybe it's my big hands but I wasn't able to be as good as it compared to the console version at the time.

Man you were making my mouth water hearing of all these delicious drinks. I bet you guys are going to be super busy now with the winter season coming up. Do you have a personal favorite that you always make yourself like when you're on your break or something?

Man you're just trying to make me hungry now aren't you? That sounds like an absolutely delicious way to spend the winter time, especially with that sausage and shredded chicken on cibatta bread. Yum! Awesome! I'm a big lemon and ginger tea fan myself, I've heard them say that it's very cleansing to the digestive system and is a very healthy tea to drink. Have you ever heard that?

Zoe I got to say, I absolutely love how often you've been logging on lately. Don't stop! ^_^ I will try to shorten my replies so it's not such a chore to reply to.

Nice! A modded 2DS and a regular 3DS. What would you say are your favorite games of all time are on them?

Working at a coffee house sounds like fun, I bet that smell is just mesmerizing! What are some of your favorites to make for the customers?

Don't feel bad, I pack on the pounds during Christmas too. 🤣 Can't remember if I mentioned this, but a hot turkey pot pie and chocolate cocoa is my comfort during the winter season. How about you?

Honestly when it comes to the MAL badges, I think by far the hardest one is the Easter ones. You literally have to find clues on the website and have good knowledge of said anime in order to acquire them. And they're like three different versions of it. No thanks I say! XD

The 3DS really didn't have any shortage when it came to great jrpgs. It is such a shame that Nintendo closed down the eShop for it. That being said do you have your 3DS modded in order to download games, or do you just go mainly for physical releases these days? I've heard Persona Q is a really good title on there, though I haven't played any of them. 🤔

Awww well thank you very much! It's basically a labor of love with me. I've always loved cooking so I guess you could say it's less like work for me. I guess if I had to choose I would love to work part-time if I could get away with earning a lower income like that, but to be fair the hours do go by quick even on my longer days. What do you prefer? ^_^

Nice nice! Yeah I just do the usual spooky movies during this time of Halloween. As for Christmas? Probably just the usual, get together with the relatives and on Christmas Eve I join my dad and sister and we go look at the Christmas lights around the city. How about you? :)
Retro8bit Oct 12, 7:47 PM
Hahaha! Well I for one am so happy that you did log back in. Are you really big into the badges? I'll admit I never really got into them when they were first launched, but now I try to go for every single one that I can. At least within reason, that Easter one I can never acquire because of the difficulty. XD

Ouch! How is the customer service at your job? I have some friends who absolutely hate working with the public, while some don't mind it. Also do you ride your bike to work? If so that's pretty awesome! Good way to stay healthy, wish I could do that. XD Glad to see you are showing some love for the 3DS, now that Nintendo has the switch I doubt we'll ever see another dedicated handheld from them. What's your favorite all-time 3DS game by the way? ^_^

Me? I am doing my best, currently working two jobs at the moment, one part-time one full-time. And now that we are entering the festive time of the year, it's been getting more and more busy. Yes definitely! Now that we are in the month of Halloween I am listening to scary music such as the Haunted Mansion theme from Disneyland, and watching the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown. How about you?
Retro8bit Oct 3, 3:18 PM
Zoe!!!! Seems like I haven't seen you online in forever, I do hope you are doing well. ^_^

Yeah those NES games could be very unforgiving, not only did many have one hit deaths but then they would make you start all the way from the beginning afterwards. Tom Sawyer actually had decent controls, it was just those one-hit deaths that made it frustrating.

So how have you been otherwise? Are you excited for the fall weather to come? Assuming you live somewhere where it's going to be fall.
Retro8bit Sep 8, 11:56 PM
I remember some of those mystical ninja games. I think I beat the one on the SNES but still have yet to get around to finishing the N64 one. If I recall correctly I got lost. XD

As for old games that have eluded me, yes there is one. Tom Sawyer on the NES. It's a game I have still yet to beat even to this day, despite the fact that I rented it back when I was like 9 years old. It has one hit deaths. ;_;
Retro8bit Aug 20, 1:33 PM
Exactly! They really made you test your reflexes on those NES titles. Are there any old school games you still have yet to beat even to this day? I know I definitely have some.
Retro8bit Aug 13, 3:12 PM
Good games! I remember I always wanted to pick up a copy of Super Mario All-Stars back in the day, but I never got around to it.

As for my first game ever? Hmmm I believe it was the original TMNT game or some sort of helicopter Chopper game. Can't remember the name of it at the moment. Both of them were on the NES though. I remember playing it at my friend's house before I owned any sort of system.
Retro8bit Aug 7, 5:15 PM
Thank you for understanding Zoe! Yes I think I shall start calling you Zoe from now on! 😁

Yes I remember back in the late 90s and early 2000s the whole capturing a small monster characters was all the rage. There were so many anime and even cartoons from America that try to be the next Pokemon.

So you're a gamer then. Do you remember what the first video game you ever played was?
Retro8bit Aug 1, 4:42 PM
Yes that was the first version of Ghost in the Shell I watched as well. Do you remember where you watched it at? I think mine was a cable Channel called encore action.

If you don't mind, would it be okay if we continue the conversation via comments? I use MAL mostly on my phone, and every time I switch to DMs it reverts me back to the desktop browser. So it's a bit disorienting to use for me. :( Hope that's okay?

Hmmm I guess if I were to choose off the top of my head perhaps a world like SAO or Dot Hack. Something magical and whimsical. How about you?
Retro8bit Jul 30, 4:47 PM
That's so cool! I always enjoy hearing about how other anime fans got into the media. You mentioned Ghost in the Shell being your first, was it the movie or the series? Just curious.

As for me my first entry into anime was from two shows called superbook and flying house, they would air on a local TV station here when I was very very little. I say both of them because I was so young I don't remember which one I saw first as they both aired together. So it's kind of confusing for me to look back on. XD

Well hey if you're looking for a buddy, I'll definitely be that buddy for you! The forums are also a great way of meeting new individuals, so I hope to see more of you on there. :)

I have been doing well, was a very long day today and now I'm just unwinding.

So I'm curious, what was your first anime?
Retro8bit Jul 25, 3:09 PM
Hey there Zoey! Thank you very much for the friend request, I remember chatting with you on the forums recently. Glad to see there are more 80s kids on this website.

How are you? :)
