I debated over giving this "Mixed" or "Not Recommended", but the fact that I basically was letting the last episode play through on secondary monitor while browsing the internet (I don't do that with good anime) to just "get it over with", made me re-think a lot about how I felt about this anime.
I will give this 5/10, mostly because I think it has some good parts, so you should watch it and make up your own mind, but still "Not Recommend" it to balance it out, cause I can.
And now, the extended edition of the review:
-----------------
-----------------
...
The MC has gotten worse as the anime progressed. It's almost like the writer was planning to make the MC "grow" into a man with all of the drama about him learning how to fight, take responsibility and adjust mentally to the reality of war and death, but suddenly was told to turn MC into just a regular anime kid who does nothing but yell and overacts to every situation till the end. Maybe that was the plan from the start, and if that's the case, this has to be the dumbest writing decision since someone shat out the script to Moonrise and "The Unaware Atelier Meister".
This show went from me looking forward to the MC growing strong, to me hating him for being a brat that just cries and whines constantly even at most casual situations (like, being chased by his own allies for fun).
That and this is just a generic harem anime at this point where the writer is getting off on "stronger women" lording their talents over men. You can tell the moment that happens, when characters start becoming way too unrealistic in what they can accomplish. For example, Mireille (a character introduced at like end of the fucking season) is the most pointless late addition to the team that just does what everyone else does, but drunk.
But really, let's talk more about the MC.
------------------
ARS..E THE MC
------------------
Side-characters can be meh, but what really makes or breaks these Isekai shows is the MC. Ars (aptly named) doesn't use his ONE fucking talent properly, and uses it less and less the longer the show goes on.
Are you telling me, the kid who set out to make his lands strong, didn't bother hiring most of the talented people from the empire, like the "smith" or "engineer" we can clearly see HIM see, during his talent hunt?
Imagine having the ability to just see everyone's talent, and then you spend the next few years just hiring like 10 people to be either no-named soldiers or your "strategists" (read=better fighters with average strategies), while ignoring every other talent, like an amazing smith, engineer, chemist, etc. Even his "strategists" didn't tell him to actually look for talented people like those to prepare for incoming war. Over the years, they do nothing but go to fucking wars which the MC obviously is too cucked to take part in, so he just stays at home and never uses his ability to look for more talent to even reinforce his fucking 10 ppl army. I think at the end of the show they had like 30-40 people "army" and yeah, it's THAT stupid.
Keep in mind, the MC has one talent. ONE. FUCKING. TALENT.
Really, he's an idiot at basic strategy, godawful at fighting, cannot give even basic inspiring speech to his troops, cannot inspire others through his heroic deeds, and the one talent he does possess, he doesn't even use it most of the time. In-fact, I think the writer and director actually forgot he had that skill as the show went on, because I'm pretty sure he doesn't even use this skill in the last few episodes even once.
To make it worse, the writer at one point makes it look like the MC will grow up, and become a man, only to turn him into a raging, whining little kid the more the show progresses. The older the MC got (he was like 12 by the time the show ended), the more childish he mentally became.
MC went from someone who could have had an interesting growth to an ultimate cuck who cries and screams constantly at everything.
There are kids who are forced to grow up in the real world because of garbage parents, an awful society they were born in, forced to survive and take care of their siblings through wars and poverty. Hell, even the MC's first "retainer" is one of those kids. The fact that MC just gets more and more "bratty first world teen" than learning from the people he hires, is just awful writing on a whole new level. I mean, that fucking first retainer even tells the MC that he can't help poor people at one point, the writing is that stupid.
Anyway, I was going to rate this show 7/10, but half-way through, the show became too stupid and cookie cutter anime trash to be anything more than 5/10.
Still giving it 5 for what it could've been. What a waste.

A fun Isekai adventure with MC that isn't annoying.
Actually, I was impressed that the writer managed to sneak in an emotional episode later on in the season, leaving me teary eyed. Your mileage may vary, but I have yet to see an Isekai capable of making me shed manly tears.
Visually, it's alright, music and SFX are below average (as is common with most anime). But you can follow the story thread properly, and enjoy the hero's journey from start till the end, without feeling confused or angry.
Basically, it isn't perfect. There are some plot holes and some issues like the MC deciding to not use
...
his full power intentionally.. for no reason at all. But in the end, I would be lying if I said, I didn't binge watch this anime, which is something I only do when I am enjoying something.
6.5-7/10, I wasn't bored.

KurTard: "Tell me, do you fear me LoliTa-rd?"
Lying LoliTa-rd: "No, I even consider you a friend, and with that comes trust."
Whoever wrote these lines, the retard-in-chief, forgot that the whole fucking premise of this fucking show relies on lying to the protagonist (KurTard) about everything to the point that they'd rather have a fucking illusion of him to replace him, than tell him the truth about his own talents. All the while everyone abuses this kid constantly for every possible gain they can get out of him, while he works like a peon for free.
--------------------
So the trope of the "Dumbass hero" seems to be "in"
...
right now with the cool kids over in Japan. Either that or someone just wants to feel better about his/her intelligence when they write and identify with the dumbass hero, because I didn't think it was possible to make a worse anime than Moonrise so quickly.
The art is acceptable, the sound/music is garbage, the writing is on a whole new level of "by the committee" with absolutely nothing redeemable.
But more importantly, the characters in this anime are some of the trashiest bunch I've ever seen.
The protagonist himself is the definition of the "ultimate dumbass cuck". MC has no pride in himself, doesn't think he's good at anything because every person around him using him, never tells him the truth about any of his accomplishments throughout the show. He's way too fucking stupid to know how good he is, obviously, so that means he does these amazing things that can change the civilization of this world, without ever realizing what he's accomplishing. I guess the "fucking moron" is now a good character trait in Japanese anime industry for the male leads?
The girls surrounding this guy are just creeps.
This is a kid we're talking about and the girls seem suspiciously older (mentally especially) and obviously they have a crush on the kid (as is tradition). They want to ride his dick and dream about starting a family, especially when an actual fucking kid shows up calling him "papa" (as is tradition) in the most cringe way possible, calling another lying bitch "mama". You've seen this shit in a lot of anime. Little kids being made "ma and pa", which I'm guessing is done to inspire Japanese teens to fuck like rabbits, which doesn't seem to happen for some weird reason (I wonder why).
In one of the shitty episodes, the older girl abusing this kid's trust, wanting to fuck him as well, takes him out on a 'date" where even while dreaming of dating and marrying him, she refuses to tell him the truth about his skills, while dreaming of fucking him. At one point the kid can actually heal someone instantly but the abuser with him refuses to tell him that, more worried about her date being ruined by him helping save a life than him healing someone. It's impressive how fucked up these characters are, says a lot about the writer and director of this shit-show.
Every episode has the same shtick. There's a problem, boy-wonder KurTard comes up with a magically genius plan of solving it, everyone lies to him about his idea's effectiveness and the retard believes them, sulking again thinking he's just a low level pathetic twat. Rinse and repeat for 12 fucking episodes.
This anime is 6.53/10 right now, while being a 1/10 anime, like Moonrise.
Shit script, garbage characters, nothing redeemable. Just rate what these shows really are worth. You'll notice a lot of similar scripts being re-hashed with slight changes. They change the age of protagonists, some older, some younger. Slightly change the world and re-hash the same basic premise over and over again till something sticks enough to sell toys/plushies/panties to the horny men and women watching this shit.
Designed by committee.
1/10

I've been trying to watch this fucking anime since 2023. But whenever I try to, I make it to 3 episodes and give up. This time, in 2025, I tried to make it longer so I could finally post a review.
Dear lord this anime is shit.
It always amazes me when I try the overhyped, 7/10 animes on this site, and they make me wanna bash my head against the nearest wall. At-least the bashing would provide some sort of excitement, leading to a character change in me.. in the hospital.
Anyway, coming back to this pile of shit. It's the most generic (my favorite word) romcom
...
anime in existence with same fucking plot you've seen done in thousand other anime, even with children (I know, shocking) thrown in as the lead. MC being a manga artist trying to meet deadlines while taking care of his young siblings, how droll. Apparently Japanese artists REALLY think their lives are fucking fascinating, working themselves to early graves, so whimsical and fun, definitely not a bore. This is why every other anime MC is going through same shit over and over again. The MC has nothing else going on for him, he's as bland as they come.
The garbage manga the MC is drawing matches the premise of this show, so you KNOW how original the writer can be. Then they throw in one of the most boring-as-fuck love interest who might as well be named "Fuck Doll Falling In Love" (FDFIL).
This FDFIL dresses like a Victorian maid (you know Japanese artists love Victorian period, very original, again), eventually switching to dressing up like a school girl because can't have grown-ups without sexualizing minors in some way in an anime, has the personality of a weed, drawing skills of an expert and you know she's going to get by in life based on her looks alone because god knows she has nothing else going on for her.
So basically, now you have a simp, cucked, bland male MC teaming up with a bland female MC in the blandest fucking world you've ever seen. It's a show about people drawing manga and pretending it's interesting, for the thousandth time. Wait for them to start talking about Ramen and discussing Japanese food like expert chef's to seal the formula.
According to the doctors, I'm STILL not clinically retarded despite bashing my head against my bloody wall constantly, thanks to shit overhyped anime like this and Moonrise. While I continue my journey to heal (until the next anime), I'll rate this garbage 1/10 cause that's the level of entertainment I got out of it. ONE. Just, one.

"We got some advanced tech right here, can shape shift into every weapon."
Oh and it requires magazines and bullets, for every shape I guess, unless they all use same mag and bullet-type, which is kinda pointless.
Anyway, this show is bad. This studio has a knack for making shows that look and sound the same, with same generic fighting style of guys jumping around like monkey's, but they have cloaks you see, so that makes them cooool. The editing is all over the place as well.
Script is written with crayons, is how I can explain why most of the shit these people do doesn't make sense.
...
There's a war between two worlds? Well, time to parteh, chill, hang around. There's no urgency, nothing (I think they took like one year to train). Let's not mention how random generic people from earth are suddenly a super fighting force ready to throw their lives away cause.. well, um.. yeah.
MC is the blandest mofo I've seen since this studio's last anime. Not only he uses the default face model of "Generic white hero" like all gaming companies do, or this studio does, but his personality, his backstory, his mere existence is "generic". At one point I was confused who was who, after someone was hilariously killed, cause the characters looked way too similar. Only when they flash-backed I would tell the difference.
Rest of his personality is walking around playing a fucking Pokemon-GO ripoff (as if you couldn't hate him any more) while casually just walking away. I cannot stress this enough, these people DO NOT act like they are A) In a fucking war and B) Sent on a suicide mission.
They are casually playing games, chatting, talking about relationships, eating and drinking at bar (?). This feels like a vacation with friends with pointless action thrown in. The rest of the cast is somehow blander than the MC. There's token loud girl, pink hair, token large guy who is all serious-like, a love interest.. I think.. could be his sister cause that's what their relationship feels like (Wincest?).
It's like the writer wanted to write a slice-of-life, started writing it, then got hit on the head by a blow-up doll he married, leading to drastic script changes half-way through. And since whoever is in charge of this studio doesn't give a shit about good script, as long as the characters can wear fucking cloaks, the anime was made.
"A-Actually this is based on Manga and this studio made Attack on Tits so this can't suck."
I'd rather watch a shitty isekai than this turd.

I'm sorry, but why the fuck does this anime have such low rating on this site while trash like Arifureta Season 3 is over 7/10?
I started watching this show not expecting much, having never heard of it, but by the time it ended, I actually wanted to see more. I haven't bothered writing many reviews for a while, but seeing the low rating for this just confused me.
Let's see..
- MC & PARTY -
MC isn't annoying, has a clear goal in mind and is working towards it. He has past trauma that has shaped him and he's working through emotional damage as well. He doesn't even
...
act like a sex pest, unlike the majority of the Isekai/Anime shows, nor does he have a harem of women falling on his dick the moment he enters the room.
The party members are actually not bad. The first girl that joins his party is actually a good support cast that is used for more than just combat (like luring enemies) while the other party member is an experienced fighter that just kicks ass brutally.
- ROMANCE -
What is strange, is that the relationship between MC and the Elf party members actually feels more realistic than any other anime I've seen in a long time. They steal glances and slowly seem to be getting to know each other more and more. It helps that the MC isn't overreacting to a girl just being close to him like every other anime MC. He acts more grown up than most grown male characters in anime towards a woman. I was surprised by this kind of romance in this random isekai anime.
- 3DCG & COMBAT -
Combat is fine, though held back because of 3DCG used in scenes here and there. Honestly, 3D use is just weird in this anime. In most scenes, the 2D version looks just fine, but sometimes they give a 3D view of the characters with that typical shitty low FPS all Anime directors are fond of, and it looks bad. The good news is, in the majority of the scenes, there are no shitty 3D laggy visuals like Berserk 3D.
Other than that, combat is fine, though the MC's magic usage is.. confusing. Why he doesn't just spam "paralyze" and "poison" on everyone instead of throwing other spells like "dark" (blindness) and "berserk", is a mystery to me. But whatever, I guess you can chalk it up to him trying to level up the skills.
- THE WORLD -
I'm surprised that they are actually spending time developing the world. It isn't a generic shite world like Arifureta. They have different locations, interesting creatures and unique NPC's with dungeons. It actually feels like an adventure, a feeling most of these fantasy shows lack. I won't say it's the "BEST WORLD EVAR" or something, but they put more work into it than most Isekai or fantasy shows.
- RATING -
Why is this rated so low? Some people complain about "horny" world or rape attempts on women, which shows the bubble most reviewers live in. Real world wars have shown, women are the first casualty for a reason. Assaulting women of enemies is the first thing armies do in war, just like local criminals. This world is actually far more realistic in this depiction than other anime where local goons or armies act all gentlemen-like and never assault women, choosing to kill them and move on.
I mean, FFS, there are actual wars and events in the middle-east where we've seen this play out in the last few years. How oblivious do you have to be about world events and how sheltered life do you have to live to complain about this?
Whatever, rating it 10/10 just to do my part to counter the negative rating a bit.

Like I said in my "interest stack", this show has an interesting premise ruined by the writer's inability to write a MC that grows in any interesting manner whatsoever.
Till the beginning to the end, MC acts like a moron. It goes from "charming" to "is he retarded?" when he keeps mistaking every situation for what it isn't. He even encounters the enemy leader clad in gold and his first response is, "What is this old guy doing here wearing all gold?" Dear lord, this isn't charming. You have to be touched in the head to find this shtick entertaining for more than two episodes.
I swear
...
most anime is just this on a loop. A good premise, ruined by some average writer.
Ignoring the obvious flaws with the character development, the visuals are surprisingly good and the action is fun. I actually liked that the MC didn't have a harem of bimbos drooling over him 24/7 as well. As long as MC doesn't act special, he's a likable nice guy, not some OP prick.
If there is ever a season 2, I would just like them to tone down the bimbo levels and make the MC live in the real world for a change. But then, it kinda feels like the entire premise is based around the MC being aloof and "being able to parry everything", so not sure if the writer can make the season 2 interesting without them both. I mean, if the MC isn't an idiot, he would've been able to work hard and learn new skills other than parry, and not waste time cleaning gutters for a living.
Anyway, 6/10, enjoyable enough despite the flaws.

Started watching this anime in 2023, then stopped and never went back. It's 2024, so I decided to finally re-watch and finish watching it, only to realize why I stopped watching it.
Interesting premise, the first episode is OK and you think it'll get better, but it doesn't. I'll just list everything wrong with this anime:
- Dogshit art and animations. They are BAD. I have never seen an anime where they messed up animation for walking up/downstairs this badly. It's like whoever drew these characters was animating for the first time in his life. This issue doesn't get any better as the show progresses.
- Art is
...
the least of this anime's issues. The garbage-tier characters written with the most boring generic backstories make the whole thing feel like a chore. They dedicate like 5 fucking episodes to these moronic main characters and their backstories, while only one or two (max) episodes would've been more than enough.
- Idol concert. Really? Fucking really? What world is this even? It isn't a secret where they're going with it. Anyone with a functioning brain will be able to figure out the plot quickly, but that still won't make the fucking idol and otaku nonsense feeling out of place. The main protagonist doing this otaku shit isn't even written like he would be the one interested in it. Is he supposed to be a serious character? Who the fuck knows, every character is written confusingly where comedy bits are thrown in to ruin any immersion completely.
- Annoying as fuck pedo/shota character shows up half-way through, and just won't STFU.
- Stale comedy, uninteresting plot. Nothing works. I mean it, NOTHING works.
- Gender-bender male MC. This is one of those anime which pretends to be normal, only to have the MC turn into a woman half-way through. If you're into that kind of cucked MC depictions, this will do. Well actually no, this anime is still worse than just a character transforming into another gender.
Watch this if you're really desperate. It's Netflix anime level trash.

I have mixed feelings about this show. The focus on tennis is fun and what makes this anime worth watching, but the fact that every other character in the story has some family trauma is unrealistic and takes you out of the show as well.
What are the odds that out of 10 friends 9 of them have some crazy (and I mean abuse levels through the roof) family/life issues going on?
Art is average, same goes for audio. Don't expect anything interesting from any character that doesn't involve family trauma. Anyone other than the boys might as well not exist.
Doesn't look like this will ever get
...
a season 2 as well and it ends on a (terrible) cliffhanger, so don't get your hopes up.

Interesting premise, average isekai.
Characters other than MC and Peeps might as well not exist. World itself is trying to do too much while somehow still having so little. It's impressive how generic it all feels. The worst are the "psychics" and how they hilarious fight using their.. guns.. not any psychic abilities. Dumbest thing I've ever seen.
Also, can I just say how fake the "aww so cute" moments of Sasaki feel like with Peeps? They feel forced and fake.
Art is fine, no complaints. Sound is there, I guess, nothing stood out to me in the anime concerning audio.
Anyway, watch it to see how a good
...
premise is squandered.
